Bev Obenchain is a consultant and educator whose background in business strategy, planning, leadership, communications, teambuilding, project management, finance and performance measures provides a broad, cross-functional perspective of organizations. She brings more than thirty years of leadership and managerial experience in public and private settings to her current consulting, coaching and education activities as president of Obenchain & Associates, LLC.Obenchain consults with organizations in the areas of organization strategy, management and leadership development, performance measures, program/project management, organizational and team development, emotional intelligence and communications. Her clients include EPA, Western Area Power Association, Western Management Development Center of OPM, DOI, NIH, NSA, Army, DOD, Fish & Wildlife Services, FEMA, Colorado Public Radio, Rio Salado College Division of Public Service, WildBlue Communications, Qwest Communications, Korea Telecom, SY International, Lucent, EchoStar, Metro Waste Water, @contact Communications, Microsoft, ISYS, Inc., New Global Telecom, Alameda East Veterinary Hospital and Level 3.As Vice President of Strategy for WildBlue Communications, Bev worked closely with the founder to obtain financing and technology for delivering high speed Internet access through satellite. While with EchoStar Communications Corporation, she obtained the first $330 million of investment for EchoStar’s original entry into the DBS market. With Coors Ceramics Company, she held executive positions in Strategic Planning, Finance, Information Systems, Environment, Health and Safety and Government Contracting. Previous to that she held the position of Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant Treasurer of the University of Denver.Bev collaborates with her colleagues at Daniels College of Business to deliver innovative and powerful academic and non-academic programs in the areas of leadership, strategy, communications, change management, project management and finance. She is one of the developers of the High Performance Leadership Program.Bev earned her MBA in Operations Research/Information Systems and her bachelor's in Accountancy from the University of Denver. She has served on the University of Denver adjunct faculty since 1980. She is also certified in EQi© and Insights Discovery Evaluator© both excellent assessment tools for enhancing individuals’ self-awareness and expansion of their leadership capacity to better connect and adapt to others.Bev is a certified yoga teacher and enjoys hiking, skiing, swimming and gardening but mostly spending time with family, friends and pets.
