After graduating with a B.S. in Biology, Chad continued in the graduate program at California University of Pennsylvania where he earned an M.S. in Biology. During this period, he worked on the biological control of gypsy moths in Western PA and Eastern OH as well as the biological control of fungal phytopathogens. Chad continued his education, earning a Ph.D. from the Department of Entomology at North Carolina State University in 2004; following graduation he remained at NCSU as a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
As part of his dissertation and post-graduate work, he performed research on the physiological and molecular biology of German cockroach allergens, cockroach and allergen mitigation tactics in infested homes, and cockroach control in animal rearing facilities. As Regional Technical Manager and Entomologist, Chad’s duties include the development and continuous education of service technicians and managers, insect identifications, technical assistance during challenging pest problems, and supervision of Technical Services Managers who support our Eastern Market Service Centers. His professional interests also include e-learning and other web-based educational formats.
