Dr. Julie Gowthorpe, RSW is a clinical social worker who provides individual (adults, teens and children), couple therapy, and family therapy for a wide range of issues. She offers mediation services and parenting plans to couples going through the separation/divorce process. Dr. Gowthorpe specializes in issues related to PTSD for soldiers and their families as well as those suffering from abuse and/or violence. In addition to counseling, Dr. Gowthorpe provides custody and access assessments, parenting capacity assessments and consultation with child welfare organizations, specifically in the area of adolescent therapy and clinically managed access.

Dr. Gowthorpe holds a Doctorate in Social Work from University of Toronto and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from McGill University. Dr. Gowthorpe is the South Eastern Regional Director for the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She is the author of Tainted Love: Why Your Ex is Making You Miserable and What You Can Do About It
