Never let your age get larger than the number of countries you've visited. That's the travel motto Shauna Fleming lives by, as taught by one her professors during Semester At Sea. Fleming has always loved trying new things and after circumnavigating the globe at age 21, she vowed to make sure to never let life get in the way of adventure.In 2004, Fleming started A Million Thanks, a non-profit organization that has sent over five million cards and letters of appreciation to U.S. troops around the world. What started as a community service project has turned in to a lifelong passion of making a difference, one person at a time. Fleming now runs three non-profit organizations, which all benefit the military and their families.After creating partnerships between A Million Thanks and companies such as General Motors, Southwest Airlines, and NASCAR, Fleming realized the importance of giving companies the opportunity to work with non-profits and vice versa. So in 2011, Fleming started Muse Creative Marketing, which specializes in bringing for-profit and non-profit businesses together to do good in local and global communities. She hopes a movement will be started where companies can “Do business and do good too!”A philanthropist by nature, an entrepreneur by trade, and a global citizen by heart, Fleming continues to find opportunities to make a difference. She has received honors by President Bush and awards from the Freedoms Foundation, Soroptimist International, and the Rotary Foundation. In addition, she has done over 400 national interviews, including the CBS Early Show and World News Tonight.Fleming resides in Orange County and enjoys being at the beach, films, good food, and even better wine. She is a certified SCUBA diver, a black belt in Taekwondo, and a hockey player.
