As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of one of the fastest-growing pet insurance providers in the country, Chris Ashton is no stranger to competition.Holding an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Chris completed the rigorous Wharton Venture Initiation Program in 2003, co-winning the Wharton Business Plan Competition. Prior to attending Wharton, Chris achieved both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Oxford University in England, then spent seven years serving as an officer in the British Royal Marines Commandos.Since launching Petplan in 2006 with his wife, Co-Founder and Co-CEO Natasha, Chris has been successfully involved in the business and philanthropic communities of Philadelphia. In March 2010, he was recognized in Philadelphia Business Journal’s annual “40 Under 40” awards for his commitment to professional excellence and community involvement. In January 2012, he was included in SmartCEO magazine's “Future 50” list in recognition of Petplan's explosive growth. Later that year, he and Natasha were named regional finalists in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program.Whether at home or in the office, Chris is joined by his wife, Natasha, their son Benjamin, their King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Wellington (“Welly”), and Montgomery (“Monty”), their English Toy Spaniel.
