We help kidney kids and their families at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital by collecting gas and grocery cards, Sponsoring Camp Maska (a camp for kidney kids), and sponsoring families during the holidays. Heather Gillis works part-time as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), and is founder of Bowen’s Hope a ministry to help kidney kids and their families. She is author of “Waiting for Heaven: Finding Beauty in the Pain and the Struggle,” a memoir of their journey through child loss. Heather was a Boston Marathon 2013 participant and is running in the NYC Marathon 2014 to raise money for Polycystic Kidney Disease. She resides in Arizona with her husband and her two children. |
