Kim Lewey is co-owner of Lewey Landscaping & LawnCare, Inc., which she established with her husband, Mike, in 2001. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Lewey Landscaping & LawnCare is a locally-owned and operated company that provides landscaping and lawn maintenance services to both commercial and residential customers in the greater Triangle area, including Raleigh, Durham, Morrisville, Cary and Chapel Hill. In her position, Kim takes an active role in daily operations to meet clients’ needs and expectations successfully while handling marketing, customer relations, financing, occasional field work, and overseeing a staff of 15 full and part-time employees. Lewey Landscaping & LawnCare has grown its revenues by 37 percent over the last five years. Additionally, Kim received honors in 2013 including Enterprising Women of the Year from Enterprising Women magazine in the “up to $1 million in annual sales revenue” category; NAWBO Greater Raleigh Woman Business Owner of the Year; and Triangle Business Journal’s Women in Business Award in the Family-Owned category.Kim was president of the 2013-2014 board of directors for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater Raleigh chapter, after having served on the local board of directors for five of the last six years in various positions. She is an ambassador of Soroptimist International of Raleigh, a local chapter of an international arm that supports women and girls in Raleigh meeting the challenges of domestic, teen, and human trafficking violence, as well as providing educational and mentoring opportunities through scholarships and grants. Kim serves on the advisory board as a mentor for I’m A Great Child WorldwideSM, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and teens through a program that enhances their natural strengths, confidence, courage, and speaking skills. The program is taught to thousands of vulnerable children in the United States, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, and recently Haiti. She serves on the Facilities committee for Triangle Family Services (TFS) and provides lawn maintenance services pro bono for their office. TFS helps more than 7,000 families and individuals annually in overcoming the challenges they face by giving them the tools they need to move away from crisis and into more stable and healthy life situations. She is also a member of the Circle of Red for the American Heart Association to help raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases, particularly among women.
