Since 1977, Mr. Mestel has personally handled hundreds of felony cases.Mark Mestel attended four years of college at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, graduating with a BA in 1973. His legal studies were taken at the University of Michigan. He graduated with honors in 1976.Other than one year of employment as an attorney for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, he has devoted almost all of his legal career to criminal defense work.In addition to membership in a number of professional organizations, in 1981, Mr. Mestel passed a special examination and was certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a specialist in criminal trial practice.Mr. Mestel is a founding member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
