Contact me for: Associates in Psychological Services, P.A. offers a wide range of services. Staff have experience in common emotional challenges, such as depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem, marital or family therapy, behavior disorders, stress management, work and school issues, parenting issues, chronic pain management, sexual difficulties, grief and loss, and trauma recovery. Specialized forensic services are also available, including criminal evaluations, evaluations in child abuse cases, personal injury evaluations, fitness for duty evaluations, and court testimony.

Dr. Peter DeNigris earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University. His general practice involves evaluating and treating adolescents and adults using a cognitive-behavioral approach, which is widely considered to be the most effective treatment modality for a multitude of problems. Two of Dr. DeNigris’ primary areas of interest include anxiety and mood disorders. Additional areas of specialty include treatment of sexual behavioral problems as well as forensic evaluations assessing parental fitness, level of risk, and fitness for duty.

Many of Dr. DeNigris’ clinical experiences involve working with adolescents who have been affected by trauma. His research involves developing and implementing a model for treating adolescents impacted by trauma who were resistant to traditional modes of intervention. The model, called “Community-Based Intervention for Trauma-Affected Adolescents (CITA),” was applied to adolescents who were directly affected by the terrorism at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Dr. DeNigris remains active with traumatic response, as he is a Certified Disaster Response Crisis Counselor for the State of New Jersey and is a member of the Family Assistance and Support Team in the Emergency Department at Morristown Medical Center.
