Sara J. Sirna, MD, is a non-invasive cardiologist at Loyola University Health System. She also is a Professor of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Sirna’s medical interests include women’s heart health, the management of high cholesterol and preventive cardiology. She sees patients at the Loyola Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine in Maywood and the Loyola Center for Health at Park Ridge.Dr. Sirna came to Loyola from Temple University Health System in Philadelphia, Penn., where she was Director of Preventive Cardiology and Lipid Disorders. Prior to that, she was an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.Dr. Sirna earned her medical degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center and completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. She completed her cardiology fellowship at The University of Iowa.Dr. Sirna is a member of several professional societies, including the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians and the National Lipid Association. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Sirna has co-authored a book chapter on Lipid Disorder and has been a presenter at national meetings, including the American College of Cardiology and the National Lipid Association. She has a grant to study the effects of telemedicine on the management of high cholesterol.
