Are duality guns craftable?

Since the release of the Witch Queen expansion in early 2022, crafting has become a major part of progressing your arsenal in Destiny 2. Unlike random drops that always come with set stats and perks, crafted weapons allow players to level them up over time and gradually shape them to the perfect roll. So for dungeons like Duality that offer powerful new legendaries, craftability makes them even more enticing bounty.

Overview of Duality and Craftable Weapon Sources

Duality is the sprawling dungeon activity introduced in Season of the Haunted, Destiny 2‘s 2022 summer season. Alongside reprised favorites like the kinetic Beloved sniper rifle and heavy grenade launcher Fixed Odds, Duality also added brand new weapon drops to the loot pool:

  • Unforgiven kinetic hand cannon
  • Come to Pass void auto rifle
  • Stormchaser arc linear fusion rifle
  • Bump in the Night kinetic grenade launcher
  • Brigand‘s Law solar sidearm

Based on all existing craftable weapons in Destiny 2, we can deduce that weapons dropping from the newest pinnacle activities tend to be craftable eventually, if not immediately. For example Witch Queen‘s raid brought craftable raid weapons, Season of the Risen brought craftable seasonal weapons, etc.

So which of the shiny new Duality weapon drops can eager PvE grinders start crafting?

Stormchaser and Beloved Are Currently Craftable

According to my experience farming Duality encounters the past few weeks, players can indeed unlock patterns and craft two of the newest drops already:

  1. Beloved sniper rifle
  2. Stormchaser linear fusion rifle

These two weapons drive plenty of Guardians to grind Duality runs. And based on community buzz, the perk pools offer some top-tier PvE rolls once fully crafted.

Between extraordinarily high burst damage and anti-champion stunning capabilities, Beloved and Stormchaser nicely round out players‘ endgame loadouts for Nightfalls and raids alike. Let‘s take a quick look at some craftable rolls worth chasing.

Hot Rolls for Craftable Duality Weapons

WeaponIdeal Perks for PvE
Beloved Sniper RifleEnhanced Snapshot Sights + Enhanced Focused Fury or Chill Clip
Stormchaser Linear FusionEnhanced Auto Loading Holster + Enhanced Firing Line or Bait and Switch

Based on community theorycrafting, these combos help Beloved and Stormchaser absolutely pump out boss DPS. And the "enhanced" versions of perks like Firing Line grant further damage bonuses.

So in summary, at least two craftable winners emerge from all the new Duality weapons so far.

What About the Other Duality Drops?

Will the three remaining Duality weapons become craftable eventually? Based on existing crafting trends, I expect so!

Bungie tends to make new drops craftable, just on a slight delay compared to launch. For example, Vow of the Disciple raid weapons were not craftable on day one. But Bungie enabled crafting a couple weeks later.

I anticipate a similar trajectory for weapons like Come to Pass, Bump in the Night, etc. My educated guess is we‘ll see their patterns unlocked next season, or shortly after that.

In the meantime, players can check for occasional "red border" versions of these drops. Collecting five red borders unlocks crafting later down the line. So hoard any you acquire!

For PvE players eyeing perfect rolls, crafting remains the name of the game long-term. And Bungie consistently expands the craftable ecosystem across new content.

The Value of Crafting in Destiny 2

More than just chasing randomness, crafting puts players fully in control. We pick exact stat packages and fine tune enhanced perks for our preferred playstyles.

In Season of Plunder so far, craftable classics like Austringer hand cannon and Drang sidearm have dominated usage charts. And recent community surveys showed over 50% of players now pursue crafting objectives before any other weekly goals.

So beyond just Duality, crafting drives the modern Destiny 2 endgame. Be sure to review crafting guides for your favorite archetypes and target farms accordingly!

Closing Advice

To wrap up, I heartily congratulate my fellow Guardians who unlocked Beloved and Stormchaser patterns recently. Keep grinding for those perfect rolls! For others still chasing the craftable versions, good luck in your continued Duality journeys. Hopefully the other weapons like Come to Pass get added to the crafting pool next season.
