Dr. Walker is a board-certified physiatrist who has been with Rockford Spine Center since 2005. Her expertise puts her at the frontline of complex spinal evaluation, diagnosis, and formulating treatment plans. Dr. Walker performs specialized diagnostic nerve testing (EMG/NCS), prescribes and supervises physical therapy plans, and performs peripheral joint and soft tissue injections. After exhausting conservative treatment modalities, Dr. Walker also expedites interventional pain management referrals or spine surgery referrals when appropriate.Dr. Walker’s primary goal in treating patients is to help them regain optimal function and quality of life. She focuses on educating patients on their spine conditions. She believes patients have a right to understand their diagnosis and be involved in treatment plan decisions.Dr. Walker is a lecturer at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and she supervises clinical rotations of family practice residents and medical students. She is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Additionally, she is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.Dr. Walker earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and did her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Mayo Medical Center in Minnesota.
