Nelson has more than 35 years of experience in the energy industry after earning Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. Mr. Nelson worked for energy giant Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO) for 26 years, holding various management positions in a wide arc of responsibilities, including reservoir engineering, overseas assignments and related operations. In 2001, Mr. Nelson joined Hunt Petroleum Corp. as Senior Vice President for Exploration and Production, where he successfully doubled oil and gas reserves while increasing the company’s overall value. His efforts at Hunt Petroleum culminated in the company’s 2008 sale to XTO Energy for $4.2 billion. Mr. Nelson has served as a member of the Board of Managers for Texas-based Peregrine Petroleum since 2009. A longtime member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Mr. Nelson previously served as a board member for petroleum software provider Production Access and the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association. |
