Revisiting the Enigma: Postgame Adventures in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet‘s Area Zero

As an avid PokéFan and gaming guide author, one question I see often is: Can you return to Area Zero after beating Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? The answer is a resounding yes! While story events initially restrict the dimensional area, defeating the Pokémon League opens up new frontiers in Area Zero for trainers to keep exploring. There are new zones, stronger Pokémon, and even another catchable Miraidon/Koraidon to find!

A Dimension Both Forbidden and Invaluable

So what exactly is Area Zero? As Professor Sada explains, it is a strange region tied to the legendaries Miraidon and Koraidon with the power to merge multiple timelines. Reckless interaction could destabilize reality across Paldea. Hence early in the journey, travel here is strictly limited.

But at the same time, Area Zero enables rare Paradox Pokémon forms and contains answers critical to the story. So while risky, it also proves deeply valuable both for science and the trainers‘ mission. This underlies its equal status as both tantalizing and prohibited prior to the player gaining strength across Paldea. Only by becoming Champion can you safely unlock its deeper secrets.

New Horizons: Where to Explore in Postgame

Upon revisiting after rolling credits, previously sealed caves, islands, and lakes open for access. This includes:

  • Epoch Island: Home to the Ancient Lair withrespawning Paradox Pokémon
  • Gate of Ruin: Deepest point housing the Level 100 Arcanine/Gyarados marks
  • Caverns of the Legendary: A hidden cave network filled with valuable items
  • Three Lakezones: Massive lakes with rematches against the titan Pokémon

New minimaps also help players navigate off-limits zones that were confusing initially. And story characters like Arven now welcome your return, even offering side challenges.

Catching a Second Rideable Legend

But for many trainers, the biggest draw back to Area Zero is the chance to catch a second Miraidon/Koraidon! By reaching the area‘s lowest point again postgame, an opposite version legendary appears for capture after an epic battle.

And unlike your first bonded ride Pokémon, this spare shifts into Battle Form permanently, finally able to fight alongside your team (see table below). So while your initial companion retains overworld Ride Powers forever, the endgame extra becomes a formidable combat ally. I, for one, love pairing my Scarlet Paldea Koraidon with my postgame Miraidon in raids!

Hunting Strange New Paradox Additions

On top of riding legends, Area Zero also hosts brand new Paradox variants enabled by its environment. Exclusive endgame forms include the likes of Paradox Delibird, Hariyama, and Wooper (see below).

As Polygon notes, these unusual creatures don‘t naturally occur in Paldea outside Area Zero‘s influence. So postgame, I‘ve delighted in hunting down these strange offshoots for my Scarlet A-variant living Paradox Pokédex. Fellow completionist collectors – happy hunting!

Newfound Strength Unlocks New Events

Of course, the reason Area Zero opens up ties directly into your growth as a trainer. By defeating all Titans, Team Star, the Elite Four and becoming Champion, you finally prove your skill is enough to handle the dimensional area safely.

And that power translates into special endgame events only Champions can access. This includes legendary hunts for creatures like Great Tusk, Iron Moth, and Roaring Moon (per GamersHeroes) – all enabling capture of ancient titans related to Miraidon and Koraidon themselves. Talk about exclusive rewards befitting the ultimate Pokémon Master!

Goals and Completion Rewards in Postgame

Finally, rolling credits lets completionist trainers fully pick apart Area Zero at their own pace. With story urgency lifted, we can really comb the region to 5-star all Tera Raid battles, achieve Master Rank, grab all TMs, and finish the Pokédex.

Doing so takes time and dedicated grinding, but offers satisfying payoffs. As Polygon confirms, spawn rates for rare mons increase substantially postgame. Likewise, Level 60+ Paradox Pokémon replace more common early encounters. So revisiting better equips veterans to round off their collection.

For me, 100%-ing brought particular joy uncovering cool Easter Eggs like the Relic de Ruins. This ancient artifact offers quick Level 100 XP candy gifts – invaluable assets for powering up my perfect Scarlet A-Wooper trio! So with riches like those, Area Zero will keep pulling me back well beyond the credits roll.

So in summary – yes, absolutely journey back to dimension Area Zero after completing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet! Those seeking adventure, powerful combat allies, and completion rewards will all discover more wonders in Area Zero: Act II. Just try not to destabilize reality in all the excitement fellow Champions! Let our epic quest into legend continue…
