Can you still get Aloy in Genshin 2023?

As a passionate Genshin Impact player and content creator myself, one question I see popping up a lot recently is whether new players can still obtain the exclusive collaboration character Aloy in 2024.

The short answer is unfortunately, no. The special event that rewarded Aloy has conclusively ended as of 2022, meaning there is no way for new players to add her to their rosters anymore.

I know that‘s probably disappointing news for some, so in this article I‘ll break down exactly when and how she was available previously. And who knows, maybe this hunter from the Horizon series will find her way back to Teyvat someday!

When Exactly Was Aloy Available?

For a bit of background, Aloy was added to Genshin Impact in version 2.1 as part of a collaboration effort with PlayStation and Guerrilla Games‘ Horizon gaming series to hype up the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West game.

Version Released2.1
Date ReleasedSeptember 1st, 2021
Obtain DeadlineNovember 24th, 2021

So players on PlayStation 4 and 5 had from v2.1‘s launch up until November 24th to sign in and claim Aloy for free. Once obtained, she would expire from your mailbox after exactly one year.

This means the window of opportunity was September 1st, 2021 – September 1st, 2022 to both obtain AND redeem Aloy before she was gone for good.

I know that seems like a decent amount of time, but with tons of new players joining Genshin even now in 2024, that deadline has unfortunately already passed.

What If I Missed My Chance? Any Way to Get Her Now?

If you didn‘t manage to log in and grab Aloy during this period, I have to regretfully confirm that you missed out and have no way to obtain her anymore. As a limited-time collaboration character, the developers have given no indication she‘ll ever be rerun again.

And I get the disappointment for those unable to add her to their account! As a Cryo bow user, she looked like she could offer some fun gameplay variety. Some may have also wanted her just because she provides some nice lore connections between Genshin and Horizon.

Plus, who wouldn‘t want to explore Teyvat with the iconic machine hunter herself?!

But alas, unless miHoYo surprises us with another surprise collaboration, Aloy‘s time has come and gone.

What If I Already Got Her? Can I Still Use Aloy?

For those lucky enough to have claimed Aloy already, no worries – you still have full access to her! The expiry only affected unredeemed Aloys still sitting in mailboxes, so using her has no time limit.

So bust out your bow and get your freeze teams ready! Aloy mains can carry on enjoying her Cryo-infused kit even now into 2023 and beyond.

Any Chance We Could See An Aloy Rerun?

I‘m sure the question on many hopeful players‘ minds is whether miHoYo could potentially bring back this collaboration event for another run. My insider perspective? Well…maybe, but I unfortunately wouldn‘t count on it.

Looking at past examples, revival events for time-limited characters have been exceptionally rare. This scarcity is what helps drive hype and sales around limited banners in the first place.

That said, they‘re not totally unprecedented either. Xiao‘s recent return after 13 bannerless months gave fans hope that one day their favorites could appear again!

Realistically though, I predict rerun odds get lower and lower the more niche/collab the character is.

So while Aloy arriving again isn‘t impossible…I wouldn‘t make any wishes/primo plans around that slight possibility if I were you.

What Could Make Aloy Return More Likely?

That said, there are some external factors that I think could potentially prompt another Aloy collab:

  • New Horizon Game Release: Horizon Call of the Mountain VR game launches February 2023. If they did promo tie-ins again, this would be the time!

  • Anniversary Celebration: Genshin‘s 3rd anniversary is around the corner in September 2023. A big collab rerun would generate lots of hype!

  • Slow Content Drought: If player engagement/spending seems low in early 2024, an Aloy comeback could attract interest.

But even with those opportunities taken into account…I still peg odds of Aloy ever returning around 30% or less unfortunately.

The Bittersweet Verdict on Getting Aloy in 2024

So to recap my detailed insider take:

Can you still obtain Aloy in Genshin Impact 2023? No. That collaboration opportunity ended back in late 2022 barring any future surprises.

It‘s a real bummer for those unable to add her to their account! Her icy vibes and Horizon lore connections made her a unique character.

While an Aloy rerun isn‘t totally impossible (Hello Xiao!), the chances seem low based on precedent. I‘d say sticking to regularly scheduled reruns is safer for planning those primo savings.

But who knows – maybe if enough Travelers band together to request our favorite machine hunter back, miHoYo will answer! In the meantime though, may fortune bless all your future 50/50s, friends. Stay strong out there!
