Can You Transfer Pokémon from Legends: Arceus to Scarlet and Violet?

As a longtime Pokémon gamer and content creator, I‘ve been asked countless times: "Can you transfer Pokémon from Legends: Arceus into Scarlet/Violet yet?" I‘m here to give you the most up-to-date information.

The short answer is: You cannot yet directly transfer Pokémon from Legends: Arceus into Scarlet/Violet, but you will be able to once Pokémon HOME compatibility is added in mid-2023.

I know, I know, it‘s frustrating to have our Hisuian partners held captive! But let‘s break down exactly what we know about the upcoming transfer functionality:

Pokémon HOME Connectivity – Coming Mid-2023

Pokémon Scarlet/Violet are planned to get Pokémon HOME support in an update coming sometime around June 2023. This will likely coincide with the release of the Gen 9 games‘ first DLC expansion "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero."

Once added, the Pokémon HOME mobile app will let you move Pokémon between Legends: Arceus and Scarlet/Violet (in either direction). This is a huge deal since Legends contains many unique Hisuian forms and Alpha Pokémon we‘ve been dying to use!

My Predictions on Most Useful Transfers

Here are some of my top anticipated monster imports I think could make a splash in Gen 9 competitive play:

  • Hisuian Zoroark – With illusion abilities and hard-hitting dark moves, I expect Zoroark to be a top-tier threat.
  • Enamorus – The rare Therian Forme boasts an incredible 185 base Special Attack stat that will overwhelm unprepared teams.
  • Alphas – Bulky Alpha Pokémon with boosted stats like Alpha Snorlax could excel, especially if their size difference doesn‘t carry over.

Of course we‘ll have fun reuniting with old favorites too! Who wouldn‘t be hyped to journey across Paldea with their trusty Lucario or Gardevoir at their side again?

Will Hisuian Forms Stay Unique?

A common concern is that allowing Hisuian variants like Hisuian Goodra or Basculegion to transfer over could make them less special. Since Scarlet/Violet contains regular versions of those evolutionary lines, it‘s possible the forms may convert to standard.

However, since alternate regional forms have remained unique in past cross-generational transfers, I believe the Hisuian looks are here to stay! The only exception may be certain moveset adjustments.

Currently Transferable Pokémon

While we await full Legends:Arceus connectivity, here are the Pokémon currently able to be transferred into Scarlet/Violet from Pokémon HOME:

Kanto Pokémon21
Johto Pokémon8
Hoenn Pokémon16
Sinnoh Pokémon29
Unova Pokémon45
Total Transferable119

Favorites like Dragonite, Metagross, and Aegislash make the list. And don‘t forget – Mythical Pokémon are typically transfer-eligible too, so get ready to cause some Mewtrouble!

I‘ve rated the top transfer picks and why they could dominate the Paldea battlefield in this handy tier list:

S RankA RankB Rank
CharizardSnorlaxExcadrill
MetagrossChesnaughtKrookodile
AegislashInfernapeLucario

Charizard‘s fiery X/Y Mega Evolutions let it check even the Titans! Meanwhile, Aegislash‘s spectral defense and powerful Blade moves can sweep unprepared foes.

Pay close attention to Snorlax too – its Gluttony Ability coupled with berry consumption provides longevity that‘s hard to match!

The Waiting Game Continues…

While the current roster of transferable Pokémon is solid, we‘re really holding our breath for Legend‘s iconic roster. The leak floodgates will truly open once we reunite with our dearly-missed Nobles like Kleavor, Ursaluna and Basculegion!

Until then, we can only speculate on what the arrival of Pokémon HOME may enable down the road. Could we someday import Ultra Beasts through connecting with Sword/Shield? Will Pokémon Scarlet/Violet DLC add connectivity to other side games like Pokémon GO or Let‘s Go Pikachu/Eevee? The possibilities definitely excite this passionate gamer!

I‘ll be sure to keep you posted right here once any official details emerge. In the meantime, let me know which Pokémon or features you‘re hoping HOME integration unlocks in Gen 9!
