Do Remembrances Carry Over in Elden Ring?

Yes, all remembrances collected will remain in your inventory when starting a New Game Plus (NG+) cycle in Elden Ring. However, additional planning regarding when to redeem them is vital to maximize their value across multiple playthroughs.

As a long-time fan of FromSoftware‘s RPGs, I‘ve killed the same bosses dozens of times in the quest for rare loot drops and bragging rights. Through extensive personal experience and research into player communities, I‘ve gathered key insights into handling remembrances between NG cycles.

What Exactly Carries Over?

Remembrances as key items stay in your possession, but the rewards you‘ve already unlocked do NOT automatically transfer:

  • Weapons, spells, armor sets need to be re-obtained using the mausoleums
  • Up to +7 ancient dragon smithing stones carry over if unused
  • Walking mausoleums can only duplicate each remembrance ONCE per playthrough

As shown in the table above, while remembrances and ancient stones persist, their dungeon quantities respawn as well. Plan out what to redeem first before starting over!

Godrick the Grafted – First Shardbearer

Godrick is the first demigod faced, guarding Stormveil Castle. His Great Rune boosts attributes butis overshadowed by others found later.

The Axe of Godrick scales decently with strength and dexterity. By +10 reinforcement its attack rating sits around 550 with C/D scaling – usable but outpaced by late game options.

From a lore perspective, Godrick was considered the weakest demigod and resorted to grafting appendages to gain power, still unable to prevent his exile from the capital.

Top Remembrance Candidates

While the earliest bosses offer some unique weapons, the most game-changing remembrance rewards come from the final acts:

Malenia & Miquella

Malenia‘s katana Hand of Malenia causes scarlet rot build up. At +10 it has 639 AR and A scaling in dexterity. Her armor set has strong holy damage negation.

Miquella‘s needle removes frenzied flame influence when used at Farum Azula. Very useful for certain endings!

Mohg & Morgott

Mohgwyn‘s Sacred Spear has 608 AR and causes blood loss buildup – devastating in PvP.

Morgott‘s Cursed Sword grants bonus damage against tarnished enemies, helping with NG+ difficulty.

Closing Thoughts

While remembrances stay in your inventory when starting another playthrough, the items unlocked by them do not. Careful planning allows you to redeem the most powerful spells, gear, and consumables across multiple cycles.

By using walking mausoleums to duplicate the best rewards, you can crush NG+ with an arsenal worthy of the Elden Lord! Now the real challenge begins…

What remembrance would you duplicate first in NG+? Let me know in the comments!
