Does Black Ops 4 Have All Zombie Maps?

No, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 does not contain every Zombies map ever released across the entire Call of Duty franchise. With a total of 8 maps after all DLC, Black Ops 4 has a solid selection – but dozens more exist when counting all COD games with Zombies modes.

Total Zombie Maps in Black Ops 4

Here‘s the rundown on every Zombies map available in Black Ops 4:

  • Launch Maps: IX, Voyage of Despair, Blood of the Dead
  • DLC Maps: Classified, Dead of the Night, Ancient Evil, Alpha Omega, Tag Der Toten
  • Total: 8 Maps

So post-launch, Black Ops 4 Zombies includes a respectable 8 maps to playthrough.

But that pales in comparison to the 36 total Zombies maps across all Call of Duty games!

Zombies Map Count in Other Call of Duty Games

Here‘s how Black Ops 4‘s map count stacks up against other COD games with Zombies modes:

GameZombies Maps
Call of Duty: Vanguard1
Call of Duty: Cold War6
Call of Duty: WW23
Infinite Warfare6
Black Ops 3 (w/ DLC)14
Advanced Warfare4
Black Ops 2 (w/ DLC)8
Black Ops8
World at War4

As you can see, earlier titles in the Black Ops series contain just as many or more maps than Black Ops 4.

And that‘s not counting remastered versions of certain maps either!

Zombies Storylines and Crews

A key part of the allure of Black Ops 4 Zombies comes from its continuation of popular Zombies plotlines and crews:

Aether Story (Ultimis and Primis): This long-running narrative stars the fan-favorite four heroes Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, Richtofen across various fractured dimensions and timelines.

In Black Ops 4, the Aether story culminates in the final map Tag der Toten but also continues with re-imagined versions of classic maps like Blood of the Dead and Classified.

Chaos Story (Scarlett, Diego, Bruno, Shaw): Black Ops 4 introduced a brand new cast of characters and mythos in the Chaos storyline spanning maps Voyage of Despair, IX, Dead of the Night and Ancient Evil.

This eccentric crew battles various supernatural threats and occult forces in exotic locales bounded by mystery and intrigue.

Fans hotly debate whether Aether or Chaos offers better Easter eggs quests and storytelling. But both add tremendous worldbuilding and replay value beyond just surviving the undead hordes.

Scorecards for Each Map

Here are my personal scorecards for each Black Ops 4 Zombies map, based on 30+ hours across countless playthroughs:

IX

ScoreLocationFeatures
8.5/10Gladiatorial Arena, Ancient RomeSnakes! Tigers! Chaos crew‘s debut

Set in an ancient Roman colosseum, IX wows with sword-and-sandal action plus fire and acid traps. The Chaos story kicks off here as Scarlett and crew fend off tigers and gladiators transformed into flesh-eating zombies.

TONS of replay value with a musical Easter egg quest, unlockable challenges, and secret treasures to discover across the varied arena grounds, temples, and catacombs.

Blood of the Dead

ScoreLocationFeatures
9.2/10Alcatraz Island PrisonBrutus! Ghostly apparitions! Primis returns!

The fan-favorite Mob of the Dead map gets a next-gen makeover on Alcatraz with the return of Primis heroes Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai.

Blood of the Dead remixes Mob with new areas like the metal industries but retains plenty of nostalgia too. Plus the Magmagat makes flaming zombies extra fun!

While lengthy setup remains a chore, the main Easter egg quest provides epic payoff for veterans. And BOTD‘s creepy ambience and hellhound rounds amp up the horror quotient.

Voyage of Despair

ScoreLocationFeatures
7.5/10RMS TitanicThe icy North Atlantic seabed

The doomed RMS Titanic serves as the backdrop for Scarlett and company‘s quest aboard Voyage. The Artifacts perform strongly here but Voyage‘s narrow corridors test crowd control skills.

While jack-in-the-box and electric Catalyst zombies freshen up tactics, Voyage‘s complexity from portals, fast travel and flooding steer it more towards experts.

Casual survivalists should stick to the elegant 1st class lounge!

Dead of the Night

ScoreLocationFeatures
8.8/10English Manor HouseWerewolves and vampires!

For horror fans, Dead of the Night goes heavy on the jump scares and creepy undead. Crimson vampires and vicious werewolves hunt the Chaos crew through an ornate mansion brimming with secrets.

The stellar atmosphere pairs nicely with innovations like custom loadouts, silver bullets, and badass wonder weapons like the Savage Impaler.

And skillful survivors can unlock story intel and song quests for extra lore.

Classified

ScoreLocationFeatures
9.5/10The PentagonPrimis stars again

A refreshing remake of "Five", Classified brings back the fan-favorite Pentagon map with a next-gen Primis overhaul.

Richtofen and the gang retain plenty of "Five‘s" fundamentals like elevators and teleporters while adding Gauntlets plus new Easter eggs and ciphers.

It may be small but Classified stands tall by modernizing a classic Zombies entry with expanded lore and innovations.

Ancient Evil

ScoreLocationFeatures
9.7/10Delphi, GreecePegasus boss fight!

Ancient Evil tops my list as Black Ops 4‘s pinnacle Chaos map. Our oddball crew battles through breathtaking Greek ruins and mythic structures while wielding weapons of the Primordial gods.

Healing alters, dynamic Pegasus Strike, and insane vampire spawns ratchet up the intensity especially during epic showdowns against werewolves, elephants and even a flying Pegasus!

Meanwhile, lyrical puzzles and musical Easter eggs make this a treasure for hardcore lore divers.

Alpha Omega

ScoreLocationFeatures
8.2/10Nuketown Testing SiteFan-favorites area 51 and Rushmore

Alpha Omega returns players to Camp Edward and Rushmore‘s secret lab beneath Nuketown‘s maze-like bunker network.

Rebooted area 51 zones plus teleporters, jumping stones and floating cages reshape Nuketown‘s layout for strategizing high round runs.

Ultimis Richtofen raises the stakes trying to sway the multiverse toward destruction. While not overly complex, Alpha Omega succeeds on strong combat and nostalgia.

Tag Der Toten

ScoreLocationFeatures
9.3/10Severed Forest Near SibirskEpic Aether finale + thunder weapon wonder

As the grand finale for Black Ops 4 Zombies, Tag Der Toten brings together every dimension, timeline and hero into one thunderous culmination.

The Victis crew joins Primis and Ultimis amidst swirling snowdrifts and zombified Siberian forests for one last Aether standoff.

While complex, the heart-pumping climax delivers on Easter eggs plus fanservice from 10+ years of Zombies through tearjerking sacrifice.

Unlocking All Black Ops 4 Zombies Maps

To access every map above, you‘ll need to pick up the Black Ops Pass which provides the full DLC package.

Here are the details:

  • Base Game: IX, Voyage of Despair, Blood of the Dead
  • Black Ops Pass ($49.99): Classified, Dead of the Night, Ancient Evil, Alpha Omega, Tag der Toten + 1,000 COD Points

I highly recommend springing for the Black Ops Pass if you want it all. Buying all 5 map packs separately costs way more at $15 a piece.

The Pass also unlocks Classified instantly rather than having to finish Easter egg quests in previous maps.

The Verdict: Strong But Not Complete Zombies Collection

While Black Ops 4 does not contain every single Zombies map in Call of Duty history, it does offer a strong collection of 8 total maps.

Both Aether and Chaos storylines receive lots of love. And the Pass grants access to heavy-hitting DLC like Ancient Evil and Tag Der Toten.

Hardcore Zombies completionists will need to go back through older Black Ops titles to catch ‘em all. But overall, Black Ops 4 provides a thoroughly solid and re-playable modernized undead experience.

For me, I‘m crossing my fingers Treyarch releases even more fresh maps and next-gen upgrades for Black Ops 4 Zombies to bolster the available selection!

Let me know which game you think has the best overall Zombies package. And drop any questions in the comments if you need help mastering Blood of the Dead high round strats or complicated Main Quests in Black Ops 4!
