Mr. Van Dyk is a past chairman of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). He serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of both associations. Mr. Van Dyk is a founder and principal of Assisted Living Training Associates (ALTA), a professional organization specializing in the training of assisted living administrators and ancillary personnel. He also chairs AHCA’s Public Education and Communication committee. Mr. Van Dyk was recently appointed to the Board for the Center for Innovation and Quality in Post-Acute and Long Term Care at Brown University. He serves on other boards in his community, including Hospital Foundation, State University, and Bank.Mr. Van Dyk holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management from George Washington University, and is a recent recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Houghton College.
