Unlocking the Gateway to Atlantis
Your journey begins on the volcanic island of Thera in the Quest for the Lost City branch of the Family Legacy side questline.
Once you complete the "Heir of Memories" quest, "A Family Legacy" will trigger, starting the hunt for Atlantis when you‘re around Level 28.
Here‘s the step-by-step process to unlock the gateway:
- Use Ikaros to scan site, highlighting Ancient Stele puzzles
- Solve stele constellation map, mathematical riddles, and geometric proofs
- Rearrange mirrors across the city to redirect light beams
- Activate the hidden mechanism to slowly unlock the sealed door!

I absolutely loved this puzzle-based introduction to the Sunken City DLC. Ubisoft could have easily gone with a boring XP grind barrier, so solving intricate puzzles to prove your worthiness to enter Atlantis was a refreshing change!
According to interviews with the AC Odyssey dev team, they originally planned even MORE complex stele riddles and mirror puzzles to unlock the gate. Some of the initial concepts sounded incredibly intricate. Unfortunately, they had to scale back some of those ambitious ideas due to scope constraints.
But who knows…maybe they‘ll incorporate unused assets into future DLC expansions or AC titles!
Once you arrange the mirrors correctly, the doorway seals slowly crack open, light flooding out as a stairway to Atlantis is revealed!
My first steps through shimmering gateway left me in awe – like wandering into a lost techie utopia, with glowing geomantic power sources, bustling Isu machinery, and flowing azure memory streams!
Gearing Up to Survive Atlantis
While your motivation may be pure wonderlust, Atlantis will not give up its secrets easily. Be prepared to take on menacing automatons, hybrid demigods, and terrifying beasts!
I strongly advise upgrading your weapons and abilities before passing through the portal.
Here‘s an overview of some key enemies and recommendations for taking them down:

Combine that with ability buffs unlocked through Atlantis skill trees, and you‘ll be ready to bombard baddies with fire tornados in no time!
Venturing into Episode 1: Fields of Elysium
After the jaw-dropping intro, you‘ll wake up in Elysium – essentially the Isu afterlife and gateway to the underworld.
Right away there are countless remnants of Isu society to discover, providing fascinating lore reveals for AC fans. Tablets, recordings, and simulations shed light on human origins and pivotal events.
Of course as the Eagle Bearer, you‘ll spend plenty of time testing your skills against formidable foes as well…
Unlocking Hidden Potential
The first section serves as a training ground, unlocking four powered-up branches of your skill tree.
You‘re quickly introduced to:
- Deimos – Using Staff to channel Ares rage
- Hekate – Wielding mystical daggers
- Orion – Master hunter / trapper abilities
- Ajax – Unstoppable defensive juggernaut
Combining these godly enhancements with existing skills results in some magnificently overpowered abilities!
Want to cloak yourself in shadows while summoning a pet bear, then call down lightning strikes on whole camps?? Go right ahead!

Battling Hybrid Alpha Predators
While exploring Elysium‘s astonishing landscapes, you‘ll no doubt draw the ire of terrifying apex predators stalking the underworld.
They combine mythical beasts with Isu technology, resulting in lethal, terrifying hunters:
- Cerberus – Three-headed hellhound
- Medusa Gorgon Hybrid
- Minotaur – Inscribed with Deimos rage
- Cyclops Centaur War Machines
Each battle is different depending on weaknesses, but targeting glowing parts using charged bow shots work well. Then swap to melee using special Isu abilities to finish them off.
Just be careful…one stomp, swipe, or petrifying glance can meanReload last save!"
Completing Elysium Questlines
Doing quests for key NPCs will introduce theodoros the hero and important bits of character development & motivation.
I won‘t spoil events here, but you‘ll experience emotionally gut-wrenching moments..as well as face down some cinematic boss battles!

Finally comes the war to save Atlantis itself…with the fate of the world at stake no less.
The team is being extremely secretive regarding details. But dataminers uncovered assets suggesting you‘ll fight alongside and against infamous Greek heroes.
