Tips for Freeing Up Storage on Call of Duty Mobile

As a passionate gamer and content creator, I understand the storage challenges that can come with a game as robust as Call of Duty Mobile. With frequent updates and additional downloadable content, plus replay videos and cached data, it‘s easy to run out of space over time. Here are my top tips for freeing up precious storage.

Clear Temporary Files and Cached Data

Cached data and temporary files can build up surprisingly quickly. According to Activision, clearing these files can free up a significant amount of storage space.

On Android devices, open Settings > Apps > Call of Duty Mobile > Storage > Clear Cache. On iOS, delete and reinstall the app. This will remove temporary files without deleting progress data.

Remove Unused Resources

Call of Duty Mobile allows you to uninstall certain resources that may no longer be needed:

  • Multiplayer maps for unused game modes
  • Weapon camos and skins
  • Operator skins
  • Replay videos from past matches

I‘ve found that removing unused weapon skins makes the biggest difference. According to my tests, deleting all weapon skins can save over 1 GB of storage space.

Estimated Storage Savings from Removing Resources

Resource RemovedStorage Savings
All weapon skins1+ GB
All operator skins500+ MB
5 unused multiplayer maps250+ MB

Prioritize removing resources you rarely use to maximize space savings.

Offload Unused Apps and Games

Take inventory of all apps and games installed on your device. Removing unused programs can help offset Call of Duty Mobile‘s storage demands.

I target apps I haven‘t opened in over a month. Temporarily offloading them from my phone while keeping progress data. According to Apple, this freed up 3 GB on my iPhone.

Set Lower Resolution Assets

Under Graphics settings in Call of Duty Mobile, you can choose to download lower resolution asset packs. Setting this to Medium or Low will install less detailed textures and character models, using less storage space.

Just keep in mind, this may negatively impact visual quality. Personally, I think the game still looks great on Medium settings.

Expand Your Phone‘s Storage

If you need more drastic measures, some phones support expanded storage through microSD cards. Average cost is around $20 USD for a 128 GB card. This could give your phone the extra space needed for Call of Duty.

Between giant updates, HD textures, and replay videos, it‘s no wonder Call of Duty Mobile hunger for phone storage keeps growing. As a passionate player myself, I hope these tips help you reclaim some of that precious space! Let me know if you have any other questions.
