How to Fully Customize Sims 4 Households: An Expert‘s Guide

As a lover of The Sims franchise for over a decade, I live for customizing my Sims families and drama-filled households. So how do you gain full control to modify Sims 4 households to your heart‘s content after you‘ve already created them? Read on for pro tips from a longtime player.

Manipulating Existing Households in Create-A-Sim

The basic way to edit a household is through Create-A-Sim (CAS). Click the icon in the top left corner to view households, then select the one you want to customize. The option to "Edit Household in CAS" will appear, letting you change skills, traits, genetics, relationships, and more by directly altering individual Sims.

Pro-tip: Utilize the "Save As" button to save edited versions of households while keeping the originals intact as backups.

Unlocking Full Edit Capabilities

However, options are limited for editing existing Sims by default. To enable advanced customization, open the cheat console with CTRL + Shift + C and input:

Now shift+click any Sim and choose "Modify in CAS" to play god!
