Meet Gerald "Slink" Johnson, a prolific American actor known for the satirical series Black Jesus. He nailed Lamar‘s off-the-wall mannerisms!

In interviews, Johnson admitted much of Lamar‘s dialog and worldview came from his personal upbringing. Developers also credit rapper Young Maylay‘s work on GTA: San Andreas as inspiration.

So Lamar was carefully crafted to channel the essence of life in South Central LA. His mental lapses may be goofy entertainment, but also shed insight on hardships faced by many youth still today.
