How to Locate and Visit the Graves of Deceased Sims
As an avid Simmer for over 10 years now, I‘ve had many Sims come and go from my worlds. When Andrew died unexpectedly from hysteria, I was devastated. I had raised him from a toddler and wanted so badly to maintain our bond even after his passing. That‘s when I discovered the power of visiting Sim graves.
This guide will provide an in-depth look at locating and paying respects to the gravestones of deceased Sims in The Sims 4. From prerequisites to step-by-step instructions, you‘ll learn multiple methods to honor Sims that have moved on to the afterlife.
Prerequisites for Visiting Graves
Before a grave can be visited, a few requirements must be met:
Expansion Packs: Either Cats & Dogs or Snowy Escape expansions, which contain the only Sim graveyard venues
A Death: Naturally, a Sim in your world must die before generating a gravestone
Once those prerequisites are fulfilled, you‘re ready to track down your dear departed Sim!
All Graveyard Locations in The Sims 4
When a Sim dies, their gravestone gets generated randomly in one of the two existing graveyards. Here are the locations:
Cats & Dogs Graveyard
Venue Name: Ancient Burial Grounds
World: Brindleton Bay
Location: tucked away off the top right of the map
Snowy Escape Graveyard
Venue Name: Mt. Komorebi Graveyard
World: Mt. Komorebi
Location: upper left corner of world map
Familiarize yourself with those two graveyard maps before attempting to visit a grave.

Once at the graveyard, you can interact with your Sim‘s gravestone in a few key ways:
Mourning – Pay respects, leave flowers, build relationship
Release Spirit – Allow ghost to freely haunt world at night
Strengthen Connection – Call forth ghost from the grave
I cannot express the comfort I felt at being able to mourn losing Andrew at his gravestone. The emotional release offered some closure.
Moving and Relocating Gravestones
If you wish to move a gravestone onto a home lot to visit more easily, simply enter Build Mode, pick up the gravestone item, and place it anywhere on the lot.
You can also use cheats to instantly move the grave.
Resurrecting Departed Sims
Though it may sound impossible, there are a few far-out paranormal ways to bring a deceased Sim back to life:
- Plead with Grim Reaper
- Use Ambrosia food item
- Magic spells from Realm of Magic pack
As wild as Andrew‘s death was, having the option to reconnect with him after he passed brought me comfort. I love that The Sims 4 offers tools for memorializing Sims even after they die.
What stories do you have about losing or honoring a Sim at their gravestone? I‘d love to hear how you maintain bonds in the afterlife!
