Is 100% completing Elden Ring actually impossible? Nearly…

As an avid gamer and FromSoftware enthusiast, I‘ve spent over 200 hours exploring the rich, expansive Lands Between. In that time, I‘ve discovered that for all its grandeur, Elden Ring may be the only game to break even the most hardened completionist‘s spirit in the quest for 100% completion. While genius in its design, FromSoftware has crafted such dense content and pitfalls that despite players conquering epic quests, barely 0.4% can claim the glory of absolute completion.

The monumental dedication required

Like its challenging combat, Elden Ring pulls no punches for those chasing the 100% dream:

  • 1.69 billion runes to hit max level 713 – equal to killing the Meteorite of Astel 523,000 times!
  • Missable questlines for 50+ NPCs – progress too far and quests can fail, NPCs can die
  • 6 endings across multiple playthroughs – you‘ll never see all endings in one journey
  • 15+ hours of perfection for all boss no hit – with 166 bosses averaging 5 minutes each!
Players hitting max level0.001%
Players achieving Legend ending (part of 100%)0.4%
Players fully completing the game?

The above shows why likely less than 1% of the 20 million brave Tarnished have conquered everything Elden Ring has to offer. The time and skill required is almost disrespectful!

A journey only the most hardened will complete

While many games cater to casual fans, FromSoftware sticks to its vision – incredible worlds stacked with challenges, secrets and playstyles tailored for the most passionate.

Elden Ring is perhaps the purest expression of that ethos. Its scale and density means that even after hundreds of hours, few will uncover all its secrets in one, two or even ten journeys.

As an avid fan, I happily exist in the 99%+ who adore the game but haven‘t completed everything. The Lands Between will be my companion for years to come as I perfect my skills and incrementally peel back its layers with each playthrough.

For those select few who do 100% Elden Ring, tales will be spun of your insurmountable willpower and skill. But for others like myself, simply surviving and slowly progressing is our own personal legend.
