Their valor cemented them as warrior protectors wielding sword and shield.

I‘d say the backstories paint Eternatus as the more primordial force – an alien element so threatening it took Galar‘s divine guardians teaming up to quell its first rampage episode. But Zacian loyally defends Galar as one of those preordained heroes so deserves respect!
