Is it possible to complete Skyrim 100%?

As a passionate Skyrim player and content creator myself, I get asked this question a lot – and the short answer is yes, it IS possible to 100% complete Skyrim if you have the patience for it.

Defining ‘100% Completion‘ in Skyrim

But what does it mean to "100%" a massive open-world RPG like Skyrim? Well, it means:

  • Completing all main story quests
  • Finishing every side quest
  • Maxing out all skills to level 100
  • Discovering all locations across the map
  • Collecting every unique weapon, armor piece, and item
  • Gaining all Steam achievements

Essentially you must scratch out every bit of content the game has to offer. No small feat!

How Long Does a 100% Skyrim Playthrough Take?

According to gamers who have documented the experience online, a full completionist playthrough takes between 200-300 hours.

To put that into perspective, if you played Skyrim like a full-time job at 40 hrs/week, it would take roughly 5-7 weeks of constant grinding. Insane!

Some ultra hardcore players like Reddit user DiJGit have reported taking over 700 hours to 100% Skyrim across multiple playthroughs.

So in summary, you‘re looking at a minimum of 200 hours, and potentially up to 700+ hours depending on playstyle. Either way, it‘s a massive time investment only meant for the most dedicated Dovahkiins.

Average Game Length Comparison

GameAvg. Completion Time
Skyrim (Main Story)32.5 hours
Skyrim 100%200-300+ hours
The Witcher 350 hours

As shown above, a full completionist run blows even massive RPGs like The Witcher 3 out of the water.

Is 100% Completing Skyrim Worth It?

That depends on your commitment level as a Skyrim fan.

According to gamers who have gone for 100%, reaching full completion grants an enormous sense of satisfaction. You‘ll have traced every corner of Skyrim, forged your character into a living legend, and have some amazing stories to tell.

However, the marathon-like time requirement makes many hesitant to try. And understandably so – 200+ hours for a single playthrough is absurd for most people.

So while it is undoubtedly possible to join the 100% club, relatively few possess the sheer willpower to complete this gaming achievement.

But hey, anything is possible with enough patience and determination! And I seriously applaud those elite few who take Skyrim completion to its limits.

What do you think? Is the reward of 100%ing Skyrim worth such a heavy investment? Let me know in the comments!
