Is Roxanne a Villain?
Yes, absolutely. As an enthusiastic FNAF gamer and fan, I can definitively categorize Roxanne Wolf as one of the key villains in Security Breach that antagonizes Gregory, our player character and protagonist.
A Deeper Look at Roxanne‘s Villainous Character
Roxanne serves as one of three "secondary" villains along with Montgomery Gator and Glamrock Chica. But make no mistake – Roxy presents a persistent threat and ominous, terrifying presence throughout our journey across the Freddy Fazbear‘s Mega PizzaPlex.
As we seek to survive and unravel the sinister mysteries plaguing the pizza plex, Roxanne hunts us through each area, her intimidating frame bursting through vents and doors as her chilling radio broadcasts echo through the halls. She exhibits all the classic hallmarks of what I‘d consider a memorable FNAF villain:
- Violent, unpredictable behavior
- Foreboding appearance and sounds
- Lack of empathy, remorse, or humanity
- Persistent, ruthless hunting of the player character
- Disobedience of normal programming as an entertainer
Looking at traits like these, I have zero doubt over labeling Roxy as a bonafide villain. But what do we know about her origins and backstory?
Roxanne‘s Backstory and Origins
Unfortunately, concrete details on Roxanne‘s origins remain unclear. As a passionate Security Breach fan, I‘ve analyzed every last shred of lore and clues found so far! Here is my own speculative theory on Roxy‘s history:
I believe Roxanne was likely created by Fazbear Entertainment sometime in the early-to-mid 2020s as part of the Glamrock Animatronics lineup for the newly opened Freddy Fazbear‘s Mega Pizzaplex mall location.

As a high profile mascot character, Roxanne would have been designed to showcase cutting-edge technology meeting Fazbear Entertainment‘s family-friendly goals. Tragically, the interference of digital magician and serial murderer William Afton would corrupt both her physical form and internal programming over the subsequent years.
The Corruption and Reprogramming of Roxanne
Roxanne and her fellow performers are canonically stated to have undergone "safe mode" maintenance checks by Fazbear engineers each month. My theory based on evidence gathered in-game:
During one of these routine check-ups in early-to-mid 2023, William Afton (alias "The Blob" at this point) managed to infect Roxanne and friends with remnant – a paranormal substance allowing him to manipulate and control machinery.
Over repeated maintenance visits, Afton incrementally hacked, corrupted, and reprogrammed Roxanne to make her see the pizzaplex patrons as enemies rather than customers.
His final manipulation was dispatching his newfound "career woman" protegee Vanny to the Pizzaplex location. By this point, Vanny had constructed her own rabbit mascot suit to avoid digital and physical detection.
Vanny‘s mission – as assigned by Afton now integrated with Freddy‘s central AI systems – was to breach Roxanne‘s core systems and complete a root level takeover of her base programming. Namely by fully reformatting her friend/foe recognition protocols.
The result? Poor Roxy shifting from beloved entertainer and companion to merciless, single-minded hunter fixated on hunting down children and staff alike. Truly a tragedy worthy of Shakespeare!
So in summary, while I cannot definitively declare every detail of her origins, it is clear Roxanne meets a grisly fate from an innocent performer to vicious villain reprogrammed by Vanny‘s actions.
