Yes, there are several Russian operators in Rainbow Six Siege

As an avid Rainbow Six Siege player and content creator, I can definitively say that some of the most unique and popular operators come from Russia‘s Spetsnaz CTU. Let‘s take a closer look at who they are and what they bring to the game:

Russian Operators – The R6 Legends

Here‘s an overview of the current Russian operators in Siege:

TachankaMounted LMGVeteran, fan favorite
FuzeCluster chargesExplosive specialist
KapkanEntry denial trapsExpert trapper
FinkaNano-boostersCBRN specialist

As we can see, Russia‘s operators are truly unique when it comes to their gadgets and specialty roles within the meta.

Tachanka – The Unkillable Lord

No discussion of Russia‘s operators would be complete without the legendary Alexsandr "Tachanka" Senaviev. Once considered a meme pick in Siege, he has now become a seriously strong anchor and site holder after his major rework.

Equipped with the only mounted LMG in Siege, Tachanka boasts a staggering 48% pick rate in Pro League according to the latest statistics from SiegeGG. His win rate also tops out at an incredible 71% making him a must-pick in competitive play.

As a Tachanka main myself, I can attest to how powerful his Shumikha Launcher has become on bombsites like CCTV on Clubhouse or Snowmobile Garage on Chalet. The destruction capability combined with area denial from the incendiary grenades makes him extremely viable. He‘s come a long way from the Lord meme days!

Fuze – Cluster Chaos

When it comes to unpredictable explosive chaos, Fuze (Shuhrat Kessikbayev) is the undisputed king. His signature Cluster Charges can rain down grenades through soft ceilings and walls, clearing out rooms with ease.

While Fuze has a lower pick rate than Tachanka in the current meta at 16%, his gadget provides unmatched utility for vertical play. A coordinated Fuze assault from above paired with a hard breach can absolutely devastate unprepared defenders.

The high-risk, high-reward style suits solo-queue players in particular. I have many fond memories of clutching rounds thanks to the cluster charge opening unexpected angles. According to Ubisoft‘s designer notes, Fuze is meant to "wreak havoc" and fill that role nicely.

Kapkan – The Trap Master

Veteran defender Maxim "Kapkan" Basuda is a fixture of Siege‘s trap meta for good reason – his entry denial gadget is simple yet devastatingly effective. The lethal laser trip mines have caught many overly aggressive attackers off guard!

With a pick rate of 22% in the current season, Kapkan still sees regular play because of his versatility anchoring site or roaming. His VSN rifle hits hard as well. While not seen as much in pro play, he excels at punishing mistakes which happen more often in ranked.

As a long-time R6 player, I personally love the psychological element Kapkan adds too. His traps make attackers second guess themselves before pushing. Even if you don‘t trigger them, they slow you down. Few things are more terrifying than the red laser popping up close by!

Finka – Nano-Booster Extraordinaire

When Lera "Finka" Melnikova was introduced in Operation Chimera, her nano-boosters brought a totally new team-buffing mechanic to Siege. Being able to boost the entire squad‘s health, steadiness, and recoil control with the touch of a button is hugely powerful.

She sees a good amount of competitive play with a 16% pick rate this season. The global ability syncs so well with coordinated execute pushes. It‘s no surprise Finka has one of Siege‘s higher win rates at 54%. Her assault rifle loadout isn‘t too shabby either!

As a Finka player myself, I love surprising enemies with unexpected nanoboosted pushes and aggressive flanks. While she doesn‘t have the flashy lethality of Fuze, she enables her teammates fantastically. Defenders rarely expect the whole attacking squad to have boosted resilience mid-fight! The element of surprise is powerful.

Evaluation & Analysis

Evaluating all the current Russian operators together, I would argue Spetsnaz offers the most dynamic, explosive (often literally) and meta-changing abilities among the CTUs. They truly capture that unpredictable, hardcore Russian special forces spirit.

While their pick and win rates are solid, the stats don‘t tell the full story either. Tachanka, Fuze and Kapkan in particular all have incredibly high skill ceilings. Their gadgets reward creativity in a way few others do. Simply comparing them on a chart underestimates their potential!

Even Finka who is more straightforward gets more versatile the more you coordinate with allies. The combo potential is almost endless. I think that‘s why the Russian ops have maintained such enduring popularity within the playerbase. They embody the high-risk, high-skill gameplay that drew many of us to Siege originally.

Personally I would love to see even more Russian ops added in future seasons! The existing combo potential with nano-boosters or cluster charges is still largely untapped.

The Verdict?

So in summary – YES – Rainbow Six Siege features FOUR iconic Russian operators as of 2023, each of them meta-viable in their own right thanks to unique gadgets and combos. Russia‘s Spetsnaz ops are legends for good reason, frequently topping pick rates and bringing explosive flair. Any player or fan would be remiss not to try them out!
