As an engaged Attack on Titan fan, I have analyzed Yelena and Zeke‘s scenes closely across the anime and manga. There are no obvious romantic sparks or tension in their exchanges – only the somber urgency of two cold-eyed radicals united by ideological purpose.
In contrast, the electrifying dynamic between Yelena and Eren from their first meeting shows she is capable of admiring someone in an intensely romantic light. With Zeke, however, she remains focused on the goal, not the man – indicating strategic alignment rather than lovers‘ passion binds them together.
Through this character and relationship analysis, the evidence overwhelmingly suggests Yelena is not in love with Zeke. Their powerful bond appears forged by hardship, purpose and fanatical conviction instead – making them comrades-in-arms, not starcrossed sweethearts.
