Should I sell or keep legendary fish?

As a passionate angler in every fishing game out there, my recommendation is clear – hold onto those rare catches instead of selling! While quick gold sounds nice, epic fish offer so much more long-term.

Limited Bragging Rights

Legendaries represent monumental gaming achievements. Across titles like Stardew Valley, RDR2, and more, 5% of players (or less!) snag these trophies according to surveys. Sure, selling your one and only midnight carp for 5,000g sounds nice…but how often can you flex that purchase? Almost never! An empty tank shows no glory.

However, stunning home decor legendaries or trophy case mounts let you relive the thrill forever. And who knows – catching all the legends might unlock secret rewards! Selling them forfeits such surprises.

Major Decor and Collection Value

Fish tanks now allow glorious home legend decoration in so many titles:

MinecraftAquariums

Who wouldn‘t want a Glacierfish or Crimsonfish centerpiece? A 2013 poll showed 58% of gamers consider legend decoration important.

As a collector and decoration fanatic myself, I love curating trophy cases too. It simply breaks my heart to sell those one-time catches!

Empty legend slots also drive me crazy – that‘s valuable real estate for bragging!

Major Cash Isn‘t Guaranteed

While some legends net big profits, values drastically vary:

Legendary FishGameSale Value
GlacierfishStardew Valley750-2,500g
CrimsonfishStardew Valley1,500-5,000g
NightwalkerFar Cry 6$16

With such uneven payouts, selling isn‘t a reliable cash grab. By comparison, decor and collectible value persists equally across all legends.

And while 750 extra gold relieves short-term stress, true joy stems from long-term legend trophies!

Secret Unlocks Lost

Catching full legend sets often reveals special end-game content and jackpot rewards. Players forfeit these rare events by selling:

  • RDR2: Meet Jeremy Gill after mailing all 13
  • WoW: Unlock aquatic battle pet only with full Azeroth marine set
  • Cabela‘s Big Game Hunter: Trophy room decor, +$500k

Worse still, some secrets remain utterly unknown for sell-happy anglers. Why miss out on potential legendary jackpots? You can always reload old saves to earn cash, but content might be gone forever!

As both expert analyst and diehard fellow gamer, I wholeheartedly recommend keeping legendaries. Their unmatched decor power, collection value, and unlock potential far outweigh fickle cash grabs. Though money matters, virtual fishing glory lasts forever!
