Locker expansion & photo stand

The first sweet reward upon hitting level 30 is an automatic upgrade to the largest locker size. This expands your total decorations capacity from 30 items to a whopping 45 different pieces of flair! Interact with your new spacious storage and you‘ll also receive a bonus photo stand for further customization.

Many players use this handy item to upload screenshots or fun images of themselves and friends. Get creative with wacky poses or nods to other Nintendo titles with this build-in decoration option.

New weapon unlocks

Reaching new levels in Splatoon 3 serves up fresh main and sub weapons to splat foes with style. As part of the base progression system, Sheldon’s Arsenal doles out additional armaments all the way up to level 30.

Every new level gains you access to a randomly selected main weapon from Sheldon‘s expansive stock. These can run the gamut from rapid-fire Shooters to sloshing Sloshers that lob waves of ink. Certain milestone levels also introduce whole new weapon classes like the Tri-Stringer bow at level 11.

Some of my personal favorite unlocks in the early 30s include:

At Level 25, the ranking system unlocks to allow entry into League Battle – the game’s rated tournament with rotating modes/maps. This cranks up the intensity with pre-made teams and tracking of your personal and team power ratings across each 4-week series.

Surprisingly, even ultra competitive Anarchy Battles don’t unlock until Level 50. These are Splatoon’s take on a free-for-all “bracket” style battle across three different modes: Rainmaker, Splat Zones, and Clam Blitz.

Only the top-500 players with the highest Anarchy Battle Points (ABP) score can appear on the leaderboards here. So reaching Level 50 allows highly-skilled squids to enter the no-holds-barred turf wars and chase a coveted top 500 spot!

Prestige and beyond level 99

With the Version 1.2.0 update, Nintendo introduced a long-requested prestige system to keep the ink flowing far beyond the former level 99 cap. Now after hitting the max, you can choose to reset back to Level 1 while carrying over certain catalogue items and currency.

A second prestige is possible at Level 99 ☆ (the max after first prestige) to go back to Level 1 ☆. Rinse and repeat! This effectively removes any ceiling limit for the dedicated players able to reach such heights.

And boy, do the bragging rights pay off getting into those nosebleed levels! I’ve had a chance to pick the brains of some Level 150+ players on Discord who report unlocking exclusive banner tags, 100x/333x battles more consistently, and other hidden rewards.

So while us average squids may never reach triple prestige levels, I salute the Inklings with such dedication to paint countless gallons across countless hours. Totally crazy levels major respect!
