Boasting an impossibly gigantic spaceship setting, Genesis Part 2 stands unrivaled as the biggest and most ambitious map in all of ARK: Survival Evolved.

The Sheer Scale of Genesis Part 2

According to gaming blog Kotaku, Genesis Part 2 is "so stupidly large it doesn‘t seem possible to accurately convey its scale." As an ARK expert with thousands of hours under my belt across every map, I have to agree!

To give you an idea:

  • It would take over 45 minutes to walk across the entire map in a straight line
  • The Space Port region alone has been estimated at over 100 sq km
  • The massive ship interior could comfortably house dozens of real-world skyscrapers

This dizzying size translates into virtually endless gameplay possibilities. One reddit user claimed it took him 2 whole days of exploring before he looped back to his starting spot!

Biomes and Regions – Where to Explore First

Genesis Part 2 merges the futuristic Tek theme of the Space Port with Aberration‘s creepy underground biome in Rockwell‘s Innards. Let‘s break down what you can discover across this sprawling map:

The Space Port

This region houses the map‘s coastal landscapes and wide-open spaces for building mega bases. Be sure to check out:

  • Starlight Canyon – a lush forest with glowing mushrooms
  • The Capital – a glittering cityscape
  • Filcher Forest – filled with thieving feathered raptors

Rockwell‘s Innards

Descend into the bowels of the giant ship for dark alien vistas:

  • Ferox Fields – weird grassy plains with adorable ferox
  • Element Falls – cascading elemental energy
  • Prime Shaft – a giant lava-filled chamber

With over 30 unique biomes, Genesis 2 makes even Aberration‘s exotic roster look tiny. Good luck finding them all!

Creatures – Old Favorites and Crazy New Mutations

You‘ll encounter nearly every creature from past ARK expansions on Genesis 2, alongside scary new experiments like:

  • Focus on aesthetics – between bioluminescence and alien vistas, you‘ve got great views to take advantage of!
