What is the Biggest Garage in GTA V Story Mode?

The largest purchasable garage in GTA V‘s single player story mode is the Vinewood Garage, offering space for 10 vehicles in a prime Vinewood location.

Overview of the Vinewood Garage

The Vinewood Garage becomes available for $30,000 after completing the "Father/Son" mission. It‘s located on Las Lagunas Boulevard in Vinewood East with direct freeway access for easy test drives.

With room to store 10 vehicles, it provides the most parking real estate out of any property you can buy in story mode. My go-to for storing my growing collection of exotic supercars and tuner cars as I progress through the story with Michael, Franklin and Trevor.

Total Vehicles in Purchasable Story Mode Garages: 24

So while 10 parking spots make Vinewood the biggest single garage, players can maximize their overall capacity by buying all available garages across characters. That still only nets 24 vehicles – not huge by the end game when rare and expensive rides are easy to accumulate.

For context, my current story mode save has 32 diverse vehicles I‘ve customized with various performance mods, paint jobs and vanity upgrades. Without taking advantage of all the garages above, I have to pick and choose which ones see action.

Massive GTA Online CEO Office Garages

Now compare that 24 car capacity to what‘s available in the online component…

The ultimate garage flex is the CEO Office Garage in GTA Online – with 3 floors of parking and room for 20 vehicles on each, it provides 60 total spaces to hoard cars.

I‘ll admit it gets extremely expensive to fill up. But for car enthusiasts and collectors, having a private garage tall enough to house a small skyscraper for storing exotic supercars, armored vehicles, custom tuners and more is incredibly gratifying.

Zipping up a helipad in a weaponized helicopter to survey this tower of high performance automotive engineering is one of my favorite power trip moments in all of gaming.

Special DLC Garages

In addition to the purchasable garages already present in story mode, GTA V has seen some massive garages added in downloadable content updates over the years…

Chief among them is the Eclipse Boulevard Garage introduced for expanded and enhanced editions. This towering garage on Eclipse Boulevard provides 50 parking spaces across 5 floors of mechanical splendor.

As part of the new GTA+ membership that launches this March, access to the Eclipse Boulevard Garage is free. For $5.99 a month it can be a great way to rapidly expand your fleet with dozens of new vehicles.

Affording Your Automotive Addiction

Of course filling all these garages, whether in story mode or online, doesn‘t come cheap…

Some effective ways to build your savings in story mode:

  • Assassination missions – investing in the right stocks before these missions can produce huge returns. $100 million+ is achievable if maximized correctly.
  • The Big Score – properly executing the final heist can yield up to $201 million split between characters.
  • Collectables – finding spaceship parts, nuclear waste barrels, scraps of a killer‘s victims etc. Searching out these collectables across the map provides lump sum cash rewards. Can be tedious, but adds up.

I wouldn‘t recommend solely stealing and exporting random vehicles to earn money. The meager resale values at Los Santos Customs make it a super grind. Focus on completing assassination missions and heists instead.

But as an avid car collector, I‘ll still regularly commandeer unique vehicles I find around the city to store in one of my garages. Any auto shop will pay something for these stolen goods:

Los Santos Customs Locations:

  • Burton (Little Seoul)
  • La Mesa (La Mesa)
  • Mission Row (La Mesa)
  • Harmony (Sandy Shores)

Choose whichever is closest and be prepared to take a fraction of the car‘s value – better than nothing for a unique addition to the fleet.

Wrap Up

So ultimately the Vinewood Garage is the largest single purchasable garage in GTA V story mode. Combined with Michael and Franklin‘s separate garages, there is space for 24 total vehicles to be stored in permanent safekeeping across all properties.

To realize maximum potential though with dozens or even hundreds of personalized vehicles, players must access the staggering 60 car garages offered in GTA Online CEO offices or the new 50 car Eclipse Boulevard capacity.

As an obsessive collector with over 30 prized autos and motorcycles in my story mode save already, the struggle is real to balance which get active use. Expanding garage capacity is absolutely essential, which unfortunately demands grinding cash around the clock.

But cruising Los Santos in an ever growing fleet of exotic supercars and rare tuner cars, displayed in prominent garages towering over the skyline, is an unmatched dopamine rush for us car nuts. And it‘s what keeps me playing almost a decade later hunting for my next trophy ride to add to the collection!
