The Dinka RT3000 in GTA Online is Based on the Legendary Honda S2000

As an avid gamer and tuner car enthusiast, one of my favorite additions in the Los Santos Tuners DLC for GTA Online was the Dinka RT3000. This sharp-handling tuner car takes clear inspiration from the legendary Honda S2000 roadster.

An Iconic Japanese Roadster: The Honda S2000

The Honda S2000, produced from 1999-2009, is a rear wheel drive sports car long coveted by tuners and driving enthusiasts. It was renowned for its incredibly high 9,000 RPM redline and smooth naturally-aspirated 4 cylinder engine mated to an outstanding 6-speed manual transmission.

Over its decade long production run, the S2000 built a cult-like following in the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) tuner scene in particular. Owners would customize their S2000s with aftermarket parts to increase power, improve handling dynamics, and stand out visually from the crowd.

According to Dexerto, the S2000 became "one of the most customizable vehicles of its time" with owners swapping on body kits, lowering springs, upgraded brake kits, lightweight wheels, and more. This tunability and potent RWD drivetrain made the S2000 a top choice for both grip and drift competitions over the years.

The RT3000 Brings the Spirit of the S2000 to Los Santos

Rockstar clearly took inspiration from the legendary status of the S2000 when creating the Dinka RT3000 for GTA Online. As GTAMag notes:

"The smooth contours along the sides and front bumper are reminiscent of the Honda S2000 with elements of the Mazda MX-5 mixed in as well."

And just like the real-life Honda, the RT3000 in GTA Online can be extensively customized to create all kinds of unique tuner builds.

Some of the many customization options include:

  • Widebody kits for aggressive, wind-cutting aesthetics
  • Lowered sports suspension for improved handling
  • Roll cages and strut bars for chassis reinforcement
  • Hood vents and turbocharger kits for engine cooling and power gains
  • Color-matched wheel and brake caliper paints
  • And much more

This flexibility allows players to take the base RT3000 and craft their own vision, mimicking some of the most famous real-world S2000 builds in the process.

Putting the RT3000 Through Its Paces: Performance and Tuning Analysis

The Dinka RT3000 strikes an excellent balance between top speed and controllable drift dynamics right off the showroom floor.

Stock RT3000 Key Stats:

CategoryStat
Top Speed121mph
0-60 mph5.8 seconds
Power296hp
DrivetrainRWD

These baseline numbers already allow for responsive drifting and cornering in my experience. But for those looking to push the RT3000 even further, Los Santos Customs has you covered.

With a few key upgrades like turbochargers, EMS engine computers, and gear tuning, you can coax over 700 horsepower from the RT3000‘s engine – likely even more if you swap in a larger-displacement V8 or inline-6.

Adding wider tires and sport suspension further improves grip and stability at high speeds. And weight reduction strips out excess mass helping acceleration, braking, and drift agility.

All said, a fully-built RT3000 is capable of over 220mph+ top speeds while still retaining nimble drift and cornering reflexes. It‘s no wonder the RT3000 has become a go-to ride for winning street races and showing off custom builds alike!

The Verdict: An Outstanding Addition for Fans of Tuner Culture

The Dinka RT3000 is one of my personal favorite vehicles added in GTA Online‘s Los Santos Tuners update. It authentically captures the spirit and essence of customizable Japanese tuner cars, specifically the legendary Honda S2000.

With near infinite visual and performance customization combos, players can craft a unique RT3000 to match their personal style and needs. And its balanced RWD platform makes it a joy to drive whether blasting down the highways in grip races or getting sideways through the corners.

For long-time gearheads and JDM fans like myself, the RT3000 is a dream come true. And it should go down as one of the most iconic tuner cars GTA Online has ever seen.
