But exactly which spells scale with Arcane? What level of investment do you need to make them truly shine? And how do they compare damage-wise to Intelligence or Faith scaling options?

The Dragon Cult incantations offer some of the highest damage options out of any Arcane scaling spell category. And with the right setup, you can one-shot even end game bosses with just 12 Faith.

My favorite is Greyoll‘s Roar. Below is a breakdown of its damage scaling:

As you can see, pumping Arcane to the 60 soft cap nearly doubles the damage. And you can further optimize by using the both the Godfrey Icon talisman (+15% sorcery damage) and the Magic Scorpion Charm (+20%).

This allowed one community member on r/Eldenring to hit an insane 1855 damage per cast at 83 Arcane!

Now Greyoll‘s Roar isn‘t the fastest spell. But it has insane range and only costs 23 FP. Pair it with the Cerulean Hidden Tear and you can tear through bosses without chugging blue juice.

Some other top Dragon cult picks:

• Ekzykes‘s Decay: Hits a massive AOE for high DPS and poise damage
• Dragonclaw: Great range and tracking with Frostbite buildup

The key is balancing your Arcane with minimum stats to wield the Dragon Communion Seal (12 Faith, 15 Strength), then pumping Vigor, Endurance and Mind as needed for your playstyle.

Blood Spells: The Ultimate Bleed

If you really want to embrace your inner occult blood mage, Blood spells are where it‘s at. The two all stars are:

• Swarm of Flies
• Bloodboon

Below is the bleed buildup scaling for Swarm of Flies based on community testing:

So while the base damage is nothing special, each fly is proccing up to 244 bleed per cast at 99 Arcane with the Frenzied Flame Seal.

Pair this with a weapon like the Occult Uchigatana, and you are looking at 400-500 bleed per second. Bosses melt incredibly fast.

Bloodboon scales similarly for even more unga bunga bleed gameplay. You can combine both spells along with Mohg‘s spear to hit the max bleed proc of 555 per trigger.

Yes, enemies can bleed for half their healthbar in a single blow. chef‘s kiss Beautiful.

Some key tips for an OP bleed build:

• Get the White Mask for +10% bleed damage
• Level Arcane to 80+, 60 minimum
• Occult infusion on a weapon with innate bleed

Now for most content you‘ll want more Vigor so a one-shot doesn‘t spoil the fun. But this gives you an idea of the sheer damage potential!

Death Sorceries: Prince of Death Staff S-Tier

Let‘s move from blood to death with perhaps the coolest staff in Elden Ring – the Prince of Death‘s Staff.

This bad boy scales S-rank with Arcane, has S-Int scaling, AND boosts all death sorceries by a whopping 30%!

The #1 spell you want is Ancient Death Rancor. It‘s a homing soulmass spell that applies deathblight buildup with each hit.

And similar to bleed, the buildup scales exponentially with Arcane investment:

Combine with staff buffs and talismans, you can inflict 350+ deathblight rapidly even on bosses. And since deathblight instantly kills enemies, this means deleting bosses in just 2-3 casts.

Beautiful isn‘t it? Now the Prince does require some Int investment and the spells have higher FP costs than dragon cult options.

However, when you need that cheesy I-Win button, the Prince of Death has your back!

Some other great death sorceries to use:

• Fia‘s Mist – AoE deathblight cloud for hordes of enemies
• Tibia‘s Summons – Skeleton agony to frustrate hard to hit foes

Best Staffs, Seals & Casting Tools

To optimize these Arcane spells, here are top weapon recommendations:

For Dragon Cult Spells: Dragon Communion Seal

For Blood Spells: Frenzied Flame Seal

For Death Spells: Prince of Death‘s Staff

For General Use: Albinauric Staff (scales with both Int AND Arcane)

The Dragon Communion Seal only requires 12 Faith along with the 15 Strength to wield. So it‘s easy to slot into any build.

The Frenzied Flame seal scales with Faith, so stop at minimum required. More Arcane boosts bleed way more.

Finally the Albinauric Staff lets you cast both sorceries and incantations while scaling damage with Arcane and Int. Fantastic flexibility when you meet above requirements.

Some key Arcane boosting talismans also help increase bleed/poison/frost buildups further:

• 50+ Arcane & 50+ Intelligence

Inflict inevitable deathblight while bombarding foes with swords beams and skeleton agony. nothing survives the Harbinger for long!
