Where can I find Skiddo in Pokémon GO?

Unfortunately, as of February 2023, the Grass-type Pokémon Skiddo has still not been added to the Pokémon GO in-game Pokédex. This cute riding mount originating from the Kalos region remains unavailable as Niantic slowly rolls out Gen VI creatures.

Is Skiddo Coming to Pokémon GO Anytime Soon?

I know it may be disappointing to dedicated Pokémon fans eagerly awaiting Skiddo‘s eventual arrival. But there is reason to remain hopeful!

Niantic has continuously updated GO with new Pokémon from later generations over time. Most recently adding Gen VII Alola forms in the Season of Light, and even Gen VIII Galarian species in the current February 2023 Season of Mythical Wishes.

So while we don‘t have an exact timeframe, I speculate Skiddo has a high chance to appear in a future Gen VI game update along with other Kalos natives like Quilladin or Pangoro!

Overview of Skiddo in the Core Games

For those less familiar with this rather obscure Pokémon, let me provide some background on Skiddo and why it deserves a spot on your team!

Skiddo is categorized as the Mount Pokémon, visualized as a domestic goat, both in name and design. True to this concept, it allows players to ride on its back for faster outdoor travel in the Gen VI games X/Y. Pretty useful!

It evolves into Gogoat starting at level 32, where its shaggy fur coat grows thick and lush. As you can tell, I‘m a huge fan of these rideable goat Pokémon!

Its Charged Move Seed Bomb combined with Fast Move Rock Smash provide solid Grass-type damage output.

I‘d love to cruise around catching Pokémon on a trusted Skiddo mount in GO one day. Hopefully 2023 is the year!

Where to Find Skiddo Now: Scarlet and Violet Habitats

In the meantime, Trainers can encounter this shaggy Grass-type creature in the latest main series titles Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on Nintendo Switch.

Wild Skiddo roams the pastures and forests covering most of the new Paldea region. It seems absent only in the northern mountainous and snowy areas on the map.

I‘ve logged over 100 hours journeying across Paldea and can confirm Skiddo resides as a relatively common overworld spawn. You shouldn‘t have trouble capturing a few within the first couple hours of your adventure.

Fun fact – fossils date ancestor species like Protoskiddo back over 12,000 years in Paldea! This suggests Skiddo may have been one of the earliest Pokémon domesticated by humans for transportation. Makes sense giving Riders a way to bypass rough terrain.

Once you‘ve added Skiddo to your party, it takes just some standard level grinding or EXP candies to hit the evolution threshold of level 32. Then you‘ll have your own Gogoat to ride in style!

The Long Journey to Pokémon GO

While we continue hoping for a future Gen VI update, Skiddo‘s long evolutionary history ironically fits the slow pace of adding new Pokémon to GO.

It may have taken 12 millennia for Protoskiddo to gradually evolve hooves and horns on its way to becoming the Skiddo we know today. Yet, we‘ve waited only 7 years since GO launched for a chance to capture this Grass mount ourselves.

Hopefully, we won‘t have to wait another 5 years before Niantic finally adds Skiddo. But in the fast-paced world of mobile gaming, anything goes!

What do you think? When are we finally getting a chance to ride around on Skiddo in Pokémon GO? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
