Where is the Bank in GTA 5 Offline?

The main bank featured in GTA 5‘s story mode is the Maze Bank Tower, an imposing 96-story skyscraper located in the Financial district of Downtown Los Santos. This building houses the headquarters of the in-game Maze Bank and is the tallest structure in the city.

The Iconic Maze Bank Tower

Overlooking the Los Santos skyline, the Maze Bank Tower is the premiere business address in the GTA world. Its marble floors, art installations, and panoramic views cement its status as an emblem of corporate power and wealth.

Of course, players never get to set foot inside the tower in story mode or rub shoulders with its executives (unless it‘s at gunpoint!). While integral to the plot as the target of the final heist, the Maze Bank HQ itself cannot be robbed by players.

Pulling Off the Big One

GTA 5‘s riveting bank heist missions let us get a rare glimpse inside Los Santos‘ monetary institutions – albeit leaving with a lot less money inside their vaults!

The Paleto Score

This mission takes the motley crew far out of the city to the sleepy rural town of Paleto Bay. Bursting into the local bank, Trevor and the gang make off with $200 million in gold bars after a chaotic gunfight with local law enforcement.

Payout per protagonist: ~$66 million

The Big Score – Obvious Approach

Hitting the Union Depository downtown, the notorious bank heist nets $201 million in cash to split between the crew. While less lucrative than the subtle approach, it‘s similarly explosive, with the protagonists blasting their way out with mini-guns in an epic 5-star escape.

Payout per protagonist: ~$67 million

These tense, white-knuckle missions let us live out our ultimate bank robbery fantasies in Los Santos!

Other Robbery Opportunities

While Maze Bank and the Union Depository are strictly off-limits outside of story missions, players can still target smaller banks and ATMs throughout the map for quick cash injections:

banks

  • Fleeca Bank (Banham Canyon)
  • Blaine County Savings (Paleto Bay)

Average Take: ~$8,000

ATMs

ATMs can be found across Los Santos and Blaine County near convenience stores, gas stations, carparks, etc.

Average Take: ~$5,000

With less security, hitting a few different locations can easily net $40-50K+ to finance your adventures in Los Santos!

Making Money in GTA 5 Offline

If straight-up robbery isn‘t your style, there are plenty of other lucrative ways to build your stack in Grand Theft Auto 5‘s sprawling story mode, including:

1. Playing the Stock Market

Carefully investing in the right companies before and after key story events can generate $100 million+ returns on your portfolio.

This is hands-down the most profitable (and legal!) money-maker in the game.

2. Exporting Stolen Vehicles

Steal some wheels from the streets, give them a paint job and pimp them out at Los Santos Customs before selling them through export garages. Hot supercars can fetch over $100K a piece!

3. Flipping Properties

Purchase one of Los Santos‘ prime commercial or residential real estates and sell later in the game once their value has appreciated substantially. We‘re talking 50-100% price increases!

4. Collectibles Hunting

Exploring off the beaten path and tracking down hidden packages, spaceship parts, movie props etc can provide a fun change of pace while earning $25K – $50K

5. Assassination Missions

Carrying out hits on powerful underworld figures substantially impacts the stock market, allowing Lester and the crew to make millions in manipulated trades in addition to the upfront blood money.

In my experience, playing the stocks and exporting stolen cars provided the perfect blend of high reward and fun gameplay. The sky‘s the limit as far as stacking paper in Los Santos!

Final Thoughts

With liquor stores and corner shops to plunder, armored trucks and security vans to knock over, mansions to burgle, and the ever-tempting stock exchange to manipulate, there are endless ways to end up filthy rich in GTA 5 offline.

Sure, we can‘t knock off the Maze Bank HQ or waltz into the Union Depository whenever we please, but a few well-timed story mode heists combined with utilizing all the tools at our fingertips means money should never be a problem in this town!

Just try not to think what Lester‘s cut in all this is…
