Where to Buy Old PvP Gear in Dragonflight – An Expert‘s Guide

As a passionate WoW PvPer and content creator, I‘m often asked where to find previous expansion Gladiator armor sets for transmogrification. With the arrival of Dragonflight and its new PvP system, now is the perfect time to collect these iconic looks from Azeroth‘s war-torn history.

Acquiring Marks of Honor

The currency used for purchasing legacy PvP ensembles is Marks of Honor. These tokens drop from all Dragonflight PvP content in varying quantities:

  • Solo Shuffle – 4 Marks per win
  • Random Battlegrounds – 6 Marks for winning
  • Random Epic Battlegrounds – 15 Marks for winning
  • Rated Arena – Chance to gain 10-15 Marks weekly
  • Rated RBG – Chance to gain 20-30 Marks weekly

As of December 2022, Marks can also be purchased in packs of 15 from PvP vendors in Valdrakken and Oribos for 500 Honor. With enough Marks collected, it‘s time for a trip down memory lane…

Dragonflight Current Season 1 Gear

The hub for Dragonflight PvP gear acquisition and upgrades is located in Valdrakken‘s Obsidian Enclave zone. Here you‘ll find vendors selling item level 239-259 armor for both Honor and Conquest points.

Up to item level 278 gear can be achieved by earning Rating in either 3v3 Arena or 10v10 Rated Battleground groups and purchasing weekly upgrades.

Shadowlands and Previous Expansions

For cosmetic ensembles from the Shadowlands era and earlier, visit Oribos and speak to PvP Armor vendor Zo‘sorg beside the portal to Stormwind.

Zo‘sorg sells elite transmog sets from Legion, BFA, and SL seasons in exchange for Marks of Honor including:

  • Fierce and Wild Gladiator (Legion Season 1-7)
  • Dread/Sinister/Demonic Gladiator (BFA Season 1-4)
  • Sinful and Grievous Gladiator (Shadowlands Season 1-3)

Zo’sorg also offers Vicious Saddles, old Glad titles, past seasonal mounts, and other prestige items that formerly required high ratings to obtain. Now your alts can ride fierce armored drakes without setting foot in the Arena!

Classic Era – Lieutenant Karter & Brakgul Deathbringer

For players looking to represent the early days of WoW PvP, head to the Classic Honor vendors found in Stormwind‘s Champions Hall and Orgrimmar‘s Hall of Legends.

  • Lieutenant Karter sells the rare-quality PvP set from Private‘s Gear up to Lieutenant Commander‘s, perfect for ranking up through the Classic Honor system‘s grind.
  • Brakgul Deathbringer offers the iconic epic Field Marshal‘s/Warlord‘s gear once reserved for only the highest ranked Grand Marshals and High Warlords at the end of each PvP season.

Now every guild can run Blackwing Lair with a dozen High Warlord shamans! I wouldn‘t recommend it though…

Burning Crusade Vendors – Area 52

Outland‘s offerings are found primarily on the Netherstorm island of Area 52. Several vendors like Quartermaster Urgronn and Rusty TTwowrench stock armor sets from Season 1-4 for every class.

My personal favorite is the dark menacing Brutal Gladiator armor introduced in Season 4. Nothing strikes fear into the hearts of your enemies like imposing black and red battle plate!

Wrathful for Wrath – Dalaran Sewers

No list of iconic WoW PvP gear would be complete without the ubiquitous Wrathful Gladiator set that proliferated throughout Northrend‘s darkest era.

To acquire the ultimate Wrath ensemble, visit Arcanist Adurin patrolling Dalaran‘s Underbelly realm within the sewers. Bring 200 Marks of Honor to exchange for your class‘ dark blue winged armor.

Pair it with ghoulish weapons like Shadowmourne sold in Shattrath by G‘eras for the ultimate death knight aesthetic!

I hope this guide has shed light on the many avenues to acquire previous PvP looks beyond Dragonflight‘s offerings. Let me know in the comments if you have any other questions – and I‘ll see you in the Arena!
