Need for Speed Heat takes place in the fictional city of Palm City, Florida – an open world heavily inspired by Miami with elements of Georgia‘s mountainous regions mixed in.
As a long-time NFS fan and avid Palm City explorer, I can confidently say the developers perfectly captured the flashy vibrance of Miami and blended it with the winding elevation of Georgia to create a street racer‘s paradise.

According to the info released at E3, Palm City draws heavily from Miami in its architecture, neighborhoods, atmosphere and more:

As a Miami local myself for many years, they definitely nailed capturing the exotic and exciting South Beach aesthetic. The art deco hotels, vibrant nightclubs, white sand beaches, and rows of vibrantly colored high rises are on full display in Palm City.
It also has a similar metropolitan, party-centric culture focused around its beaches, downtown core, ports and waterfront properties. These stand out visually in the game with neon lights, street art murals, and lively urban streets with supercars speeding by.

It‘s a playable postcard for Miami‘s street racing underbelly that also continually surprises me with those Georgia mountain twists – a brilliant combo!
