Next, putting points into the Runic stat will decrease the summon‘s cooldown. Reduced cooldown leads to 33% faster summon uptime. This further increases overall damage dealt from having Wrath Of The Wolf attacking more often.
As far as gear goes, fully upgrade Atreus‘s Talon Bow with Skap Slag to activate perks more often. One called Pack Mate in particular causes each wolf summon to deal an extra 90 damage per pounce.
With all three repeatedly attacking, Pack Mate hugely spikes the damage output when it activates!
Other Strong Options: Runic Attacks And Allies
Of course, Kratos himself has fantastic Runic attack options as well that compete with the Wrath summons for damage potential. I utilize a hybrid build that maximizes both simultaneously.
The Njord‘s Tempest heavy runic attack for the Blades of Chaos in particular clocks in at 740 damage per second. This makes it quite formidable, especially when you build Kratos with high strength and runic statistics.
Chaining together Njord‘s Tempest and Hyperion Grapple to maintain a constant elemental assault is key against various end game bosses and challenges. However, consuming so much rage means Atreus can still contribute with his wolf summons in between for optimization.
In addition, while new ally Freya provides fantastic group crowd control and damage over time from her Vanir abilities, I still rate Atreus as the superior partner most of the time. His survivability along with both bow attacks and wolf runic gives him an edge in versatility and power.
