How Buddha Defeated and Sealed Wukong
After Wukong caused chaos in heaven, all the lesser gods fell quickly. Only Buddha, with his transcendent spiritual power, could finally defeat him. But even Buddha could not destroy Wukong, just trap and seal him:

So in the end, despite Wukong‘s insane combat abilities, he could not overcome a sufficiently powerful divine being who understood the workings of space and magic at the metaphysical level. It took esoteric skills to keep Wukong contained, not raw strength.
Who Stands a Chance Against Sun Wukong
Based on Wukong‘s portrayal in Journey to the West, very few fictional characters would stand a chance at beating him. Here are some possibilities:
