Ganyu is the oldest human-looking female character in Genshin Impact

Hey friend, it‘s your fellow gaming enthusiast back to drop some sweet Genshin lore. Today, we‘ll be investigating who the oldest female character is based on appearances alone. After tons of research into backgrounds, lineages, and connections across Teyvat, I can say without doubt that Ganyu takes the crown!

Ganyu‘s Age and History

As a half-qilin, half-adeptus born before The Archon War, Ganyu has lived for over 3000 years by most accounts. Despite looking like she‘s in her 20s, she‘s seen the rise and fall of dynasties and eras! Her unique ancestry gives her an incredible lifespan without fully losing a humanlike form. Pretty wild when you think about it!

The Only Remaining Half-Qilin

In fact, Ganyu is the last remaining member of her kind according to lore. Qilins were divine creatures capable of incredible feats, but most died off long ago. As the Secretary for Liyue‘s Qixing, could Ganyu be the most reliable source of wisdom about the region‘s distant past? I‘d reckon so!

Fun Fact! Ganyu was awarded her current role for her dutiful service during the Archon War where she fought beside Rex Lapis. Talk about tenure!

Contrasting Other Elder Archons and Adepti

Ganyu‘s age becomes even more exceptional when compared to other ancient characters. See for yourself in this handy table:

NameAgeAppearance
Zhongli6000+ yearsYoung male
Raiden Shogun500+ yearsFemale archon
Ganyu3000+ yearsHumanlike female

As you can see, while Zhongli is technically older he resembles a mortal man while Ganyu walks that delicate balance of ageless grace. Meanwhile Raiden may be an archon but she lacks the depth of history found in our qilin friend.

Ganyu‘s Wisdom and Grace Persists

Having chatted with Ganyu myself on many an expedition, I can certainly say she demonstrates the insight and patience you‘d expect of someone so well traveled. Don‘t let that youthful face fool you – this adeptus knows Liyue Harbour better than most maps!

Closing Thoughts on Genshin‘s Ageless Beauty

When it comes down to it, I‘m hard pressed to name a lady in Teyvat‘s history better qualified to hold the title of eldest than our dearest Ganyu. She‘s stood sentinel since before the first Archon War and will likely still be around long after I‘m gone too.

Let me know what other ancient characters catch your interest! I‘m always thrilled to analyze new lore and make connections across this gorgeous world of Teyvat that miHoYo has crafted.
