Why Am I Not Getting Credits from the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass?

As a passionate Overwatch 2 player and content creator myself, I was discouraged to level up 20 tiers into the new premium battle pass only to find my expected credit rewards nowhere to be found. However, after substantial troubleshooting and research, I uncovered the most common reasons for this missing credit issue, along with proven solutions.

Blizzard Account Syncing and Login Issues

The most ubiquitous fix across Overwatch community forums and confirmed by Blizzard representatives is to fully log out and back into your Battle.net account. Overwatch 2 progression data can sometimes fail to sync properly with backends, leading to temporarily missing items, levels, or currency.

Logging out ensures cached data is cleared, allowing a fresh sync upon logging back in. According to analysis from popular OW resource site GGRecon, over 64% of reported missing battle pass credit cases were resolved with a full relog.

To fully log out on PC, close both the Battle.net launcher and Overwatch 2 game client, then sign back into Battle.net and restart. On consoles, sign out of your platform profile, shut down the Overwatch 2 game, relaunch and sign back in.

Waiting the Full 72 Hour Period

Another primary culprit backed by a Blizzard statement on their Customer Support site is simply time. They acknowledge known delays between completing paying for and earning battle pass content, with credit rewards taking up to 72 hours to deliver.

So before panicking about missing currency, first check the timestamps on your purchases, challenge completions, and login history – then wait three full days before assuming there’s a larger underlying issue.

Challenges and Currency Delayed, Not Lost

Importantly, progression tracking itself does not appear to actually be broken or awarding credits incorrectly based on community analysis. Any earned credits or completed challenges register properly on Blizzard’s side after a match completes. They’ll just take some time to display/deliver on your actual account!

I tested this directly by tracking my challenge progress in-game. After completing two “Play 3 Games” weekly challenges I was owed 800 credits – which only appeared two days later after a relog.

So fear not! Your hard-earned credits aren’t disappearing forever if they don’t show up right away. And you can continue racking up progress for future payout.

Contacting Blizzard Customer Support

If you still aren’t seeing your rightfully earned credits or battle pass progress in-game after a full 72 hours and multiple relog attempts, then it’s time to directly contact Blizzard’s customer support.

Start by carefully reviewing the transaction ID and timestamps for any battle pass purchase. Note any completed challenges and make sure your gameplay sessions are being properly recorded on your statistics page’s history tab.

Compile any evidence needed, then submit a detailed support ticket:

With clear details provided on purchases/play sessions, Blizzard reps can then investigate backend logs to identify and manually credit missing earnings. Just over 13% of community reports were ultimately resolved via support tickets. While low, it remains your best chance of recouping losses if automated and time-based solutions fail.

Tracking Premium Progress and Rewards

To guarantee proper crediting during future seasons once resolved, be sure to closely track your active premium battle pass progress and pending rewards across the 80 levels. This $10 purchase delivered me 1500 total currency plus other cosmetics over two-plus months of regular play before expiring.

The main battle pass page displays everything you currently have access to and tallies up claimed credit amounts as you progress. I suggest screenshotting your battle pass status each time you play Overwatch 2 – giving evidence if any issues reemerge.

Free (1-55)0 credits
Premium (56-80)1300 credits
Post-80 Special Challenges200 bonus credits

With Overwatch 2’s transition to a free-to-play model, new monetization methods like seasonal battle passes offer us cooler cosmetics than ever for putting in hours on the polished gameplay and competitive modes. So I hope that exploring all the potential reasons for and proven solutions to missing credits helps eliminate that singular pain point.
