Guy W. Neff, M.D., M.B.A., is the chief of hepatology for Tampa General Medical Group. Dr. Neff received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of North Texas and his medical degree, internal medicine residency, chief resident at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Dr. Neff trained in gastroenterology and hepatology at LSU-Shreveport. He then trained in advanced endoscopy, hepatology, and transplant hepatology at the University of Miami. Dr. Neff has served as the primary investigator for numerous clinical trials and is an active clinical researcher in areas related to liver failure and liver transplantation. His research interests include sarcopenia, portal hypertension, medical economics, fulminant hepatic failure treated with extracorporeal liver assist device (ELAD) and liver transplantation in patients suffering from HCV recurrence. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. Dr. Neff has authored over 150 publications and more than 250 abstracts. Dr. Neff is active in many professional medical societies including the Board of Directors of the American Liver Foundation. He is a member of the International Liver Transplant Society, AASLD, and ACG. Dr. Neff is on the review board for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics. His work has been published in numerous journals including the American Journal of Gastroenterology, Transplantation Proceedings, Liver Transplantation, and Clinical Transplantation.
