Scott J. Hershman, MD, CCMEP
Dr. Hershman is the Principal and co-founder of Allicott Consulting, LLC, a firm specializing in the collaborative educational endeavors of healthcare providers, academic medical centers, and medical education companies as it pertains to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of healthcare professionals.In his current roles as Medical Director, Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) for a hospital network within HCA-HealthONE’s Continental Division, the Director of Healthcare Collaboration for the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM), and as Chief Medical Executive of the telemedicine platform Virtual Care Works, Inc., Dr. Hershman is responsible for providing guidance to numerous educational activities across a wide spectrum of formats and therapeutic areas.With over ten years of experience in CPD, he currently serves on the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education’s (ACCME) Accreditation Review Committee (ARC). In addition, Dr. Hershman serves as President of the National Commission for Certification of CME Professionals (NC-CME), as well as, Chair-Elect of the Association for Hospital Medical Education’s (AHME) Council on CME. Dr. Hershman was awarded the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Healthcare Profession’s (ACEHP) Rising Star Award in 2011.Previously he has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Medical Education Companies (NAMEC) and Chaired their Advocacy Committee. Dr. Hershman has also dedicated his time to ACEHP’s Almanac Editorial Board, Consultant Task Force and Mentor/Mentee Program, as well as, the former Co-Chair of the Colorado Telehealth Network’s (CTN) Education Advisory Council.A skilled presenter and approachable professional, Dr. Hershman has been awarded numerous academic positions. Former students have included practicing clinicians, fellows, and residents, as well as, medical, nursing, pharmacy, and undergraduate students.Dr. Hershman is multi-lingual and currently resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife Allison, daughter Eleanor and their dog DenNy. In his free time, Dr. Hershman enjoys skiing, mountain biking and other outdoor recreation.
