Full Profile: | Shelley Skopit, DVM, was born in Miami, Fla. and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, earning a degree in Biology. After graduating from Ross University with a DVM degree, she received her clinical training from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Skopit attended the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, Reddick, Fla. and graduated in their acupuncture certificate program. She has worked with two animal hospitals in Westchester County, New York specializing in small animals — Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital and the New Yorktown Animal Hospital. She has also served as head of the Emergency Veterinary Medicine Department of the Veterinary Specialty Center of the Hudson Valley. In addition, she has operated Veterinary Acupuncture Service, an independent on-call practice.Along with her veterinarian husband, Dr. Damian Battersby, Dr. Skopit, owns and operates Fairfield County’s Park Animal Hospital. The couple recently purchased the practice and its two locations in Norwalk and Darien. In addition to continuing to provide quality health care for dogs and cats, the couple has introduced healing arts services, which are offered by very few veterinarians in the region. The couple resides in Wilton, Connecticut. |
