Services Provided by Sky Blue:
Credit report Analysis:
The first thing they will ask you to do is to access your credit report.
Credit report refers to a statement that shows information concerning your credit activity. This includes credit information such as your loan repayment history and the status of all your credit accounts. Most people usually have more than one credit report, and I shall show you how you can retrieve them.
Lenders will use this report to decide whether you qualify for credit or not. It also helps them in determining what interest rate you shall get once you are eligible for a loan.
A credit report contains the following information;
- Your name and any other name you may have used in the past i.e., nicknames.
- Your current and former addresses.
- Your date of Birth.
- Your Social Security numbers.
- Your contact information, such as your telephone numbers.
This will include;
- Current and all historical credit information which will also include the type of account, i.e., mortgage, installment, etc.
- Your current credit limits.
- Your Account balances.
- Your account repayment history.
- The dates you opened and closed your accounts.
- The names of all your creditors.
These will include;
- Judgments and civil suits.
The report may also include information about overdue child support that is provided by the state or a child support agency which must be verified by your local federal or state agency.
Who provides the credit report information?
Credit bureaus or Credit Reporting Agencies – CRA's. Normally collect and maintain credit information from lenders, and then they sell this information to the credit reporting companies.
Currently, there are three major credit reporting companies; Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. These companies are publicly traded and are not owned by the government. [see below][wpsm_highlight color=”yellow”]You can log on to the following websites in order to retrieve your credit report;[/wpsm_highlight]
- AnnualCreditReport.com. From this website, you can get a copy of your credit report from each of the significant companies i.e., Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. You qualify for one per year. This website may not be the most user-friendly, but it is definitely a reliable one.
- Credit Karma. This is easy to use the website, where you can be able to retrieve your experience credit report at any time.
Here are some steps to follow when you log on to the websites;
- Fill in your personal information.
- Choose whether you wish to receive all of the three credit reports, and if you want one only, then choose that one.
- Confirm your personal information.
- View the credit report and save it for future use.
Once you have received your credit report, send it to the Sky-Blue Credit company for review.
When they receive your report, they will thoroughly analyze it line by line and take note of any mistakes they will see.
They have highly qualified professionals that are able to spot even the most subtle of mistakes easily. They know the credit regulations and laws well enough, and how to dispute them.
One of the main problems that are noticeable on credit reports is the fact that creditors are not allowed to report a debt, once it has been sold off to collection agencies. The Sky-Blue team will comb through your report keenly and identify any such errors.
After receiving and going through your credit report, they shall contact you so as to discuss the way forward. In case they do not see any problems with your report, they will relay that information and not charge you for anything.
For reports that require help, they will come up with practical tips that will help you with score optimization.
They usually use a third party for credit monitoring of your account, which is inclusive in the overall cost.
When you sign up with them, you inadvertently sign up for the credit monitoring service which includes alerts whenever something changes on your report.
This system can also help you identify theft and fraud cases.
Once you sign up with them, they will start sending out dispute letters concerning any of the transactions they dispute on your report. These are simply letters that show that they do not agree with a specific item on your credit report.
These are items they feel should be removed from your report. The package allows them to dispute 15 items every 30 days. This means five on each page.
Writing Cease and desist letters:
This is the next step. They will begin sending out cease and desist letters to your creditors, mostly informing them that you are in the process of credit repair, which means that they must cease all form of communication with you in form of letters and calls until you resolve this issue.
The online portal:
They have a user-friendly online portal that you can log on and track the progress of your case. You can also use this platform to update your personal information and chat with a customer service rep if you have any questions, and also you can upload any information you wish to upload.
If you want to terminate the contract, this is where you would go to do so with one click only.
How much does it cost?
They have a straight forward pricing structure, and the initial setup will cost you $79, and this is after the initial review is complete.
Other services offered by Sky Blue Credit company:
If you are continually receiving collection notices which are in writing, you can legally ask the creditor to validate their debt.
Sky Blue will advise you on this option only if you are willing to pay off the debt, or if you believe that the debt doesn’t belong to you.
The reason behind this is that; Debt validation is a process that triggers new and aggressive collection efforts. Sky Blue will use this tactic very cautiously, and only after they clear it up with you.
If you have later payments that are older than six months, sky blue will send a goodwill letter on your behalf to creditors which is an appeal for them to remove the negative items on your report without any disputes.
Debt settlement consultation:
Sky blue offers debt settlement consultation if it is your intent to settle your debts. They will also help you with a strategy on how to do this. They will also advise you on the chances of having it removed from your report and the best way to do this.
What can they not do?
Well, not just Sky Blue but all credit repair companies have a limit to their services. One thing they cannot do is remove the information on your credit report. They can only dispute these items, and they must show enough proof to dispute these items.
One of the questions that most people will ask is how long it can take to repair your credit. Now, this is different with each client, because you don’t all have the same problems.
Basically, they usually send dispute letters to creditors, and the creditors have 30 days to respond to the issues raised, failure to which they will take additional measures to try and correct the problems you have and raise your score.
Remember that this process has typically no guarantees, especially when it comes to raising your credit score. However, this is a company that has been in operation for the last 20 years, and hence, they have better chances of making this happen.
