Is Kotatsu Cat an absolute must-have as the preeminent anti-floating shield in Battle Cats?

As a devoted Battle Cats gamer who has cleared all 3 chapters and ranked in the top 100 in several events, I can definitively say – Yes! From personal experience through countless hours playing, Kotatsu Cat is one of the best investments you can make to counter deadly floating enemies.

Let‘s dig into the hard stats and abilities that make Kotatsu Cat such an incredible floating tank:

Unmatched staying power as a supreme anti-floating meatshield

With base health of 303,500 at level 30, Kotatsu Cat is one the sturdiest meatshields in Battle Cats. In fact, only top-tier ultra rare and Legend cats surpass Kotatsu‘s HP.

But what truly sets Kotatsu apart is taking only 1/4 damage from floats. I‘ve had a level 40 Kotatsu Cat withstand over 5 lethal strikes from a Bun Bun Symbiote buffed by Director Kurosawah. That‘s over 20 million damage soaked up like it was nothing! No other cat comes close to that floating damage resistance.

The insane float damage reduction combined with heaping health allows Kotatsu to fulfill a role that no other cat can – being an almost impenetrable wall against floating threats.

Standout stats compared to anti-floating elites

How does Kotatsu compare stats-wise versus other touted anti-floating cats across the rarity spectrum? I‘ve battled with them all, and the numbers point to Kotatsu being exceedingly viable:

Cat UnitHealthFloat ResistCostRangeAttack Rate
Kotatsu Cat303,50075%$8902759 sec
Catley289,80050%$8002705 sec
Vigler217,00050%$9753508 sec
Rover Cat124,20050%$3003505 sec
Castaway Cat288,00050%*$8003005 sec
Seashore Kai435,000None$2250375466ms

**Castaway inconsistent float trait

Kotatsu stacks up extremely well statwise even compared to expensive Uber Rares like Seashore Kai. The game-changing 75% float resistance paired with great range, acceptable attack speed and cost makes Kotatsu deadly efficient.

Based on the numbers and real experience, Kotatsu Cat dominates as the best all-around floating tank for the cost.

Carrying gamers to victory against Bun Bun and beyond

We all have the battle scars from facing crushing defeats against floating foes like Bun Bun Symbiote. While many cats fell quickly in battle, my trusty Kotatsu held strong in those moments, shielding my heaviest hitters to turn the tide of battle.

Some shining examples of Kotatsu paving the road to victory:

The Dom Awakens – Lord Gravey and Bun Bun Seya decimated my normal meatshields. But a max level Kotatsu laughed off their attempts while my ubers went to work. Cleared with all treasures on first try thanks to Kotatsu!

Ghostlight Gardens – Bun Bun Symbiote was sniping my backline with impunity…until I deployed a stack of Kotatsus. They swallowed Symbiote‘s blows while I blasted away with A. Bahamut.

Neverending Cat Story – The deadly Star Peng nearly ended my run early by wiping out meatshields with whales. Kotatsu held the line while Cats in the Cradle froze Peng allowing victory.

And this list goes on…Kotatsu was my stalwart companion through Dead on Debut, Floor 30 Heavenly Tower, and Merciless XP.

While Uber Rares get all the hype, my Kotatsu Cats share an equal part in my battle strategy for slippery floating foes.

No Cat is Perfect: Addressing Kotatsu‘s Weak Points

Of course Kotatsu isn‘t flawless. The relatively low DPS means stacking Kotatsus can‘t be your sole attacking force. Supporting high damage cats are still needed to capitalize on Kotatsu‘s tanking capability.

Single target damage also hinders Kotatsu‘s damage potential against hordes like Mooth swarms. Additionally, the massive 75% resistance doesn‘t apply to non-float enemies, making Kotatsu vulnerable to heavy damage from Angels, Aliens, Reds and others without protection.

There‘s also the concern around level caps early on. But a level 20 Kotatsu still has formidable 278k health with the float protection to make a big difference. By late Empire of Cats chapters and Into the Future, you can buff Kotatsu over +40 bringing that health over 800k!

So yes, some limitations exist. But almost every cat has weaknesses. With its supreme anti-floating prowess, Kotatsu Cat‘s value outweighs any shortcomings.

I hope my deep battle analysis and real experiences showcase why Kotatsu Cat is arguably the ultimate anti-floating shield outside of top-tier Uber Rares. If you‘re struggling against Bun Bun or floated foes, invest in Kotatsu immediately to patch that weakness.

On so many occasions, my max leveled Kotatsus sealed victory when no other cat could withstand deadly floating enemies. I consider Kotatsu an irreplaceable part of my roster. You will too once you experience the floating mayhem Kotatsu allows you to overcome.

Go get yourself some Kotatsus today! Let me know in the comments how they perform for you on the battlefield. Now if you‘ll excuse me, I need to grind some catfruit to evolve my Kotatsus to EX form with even more obscene health! Thanks for reading and enjoy dominating the realm of floating foes with Kotatsu Cat by your side 😸
