What Paragon is best for Necromancer Diablo?

Hey fellow Diablo fans! As you may know, I love creating Necromancer builds and guides to dominate the forces of Hell. Today I wanted to share my top recommendation for allocating those all-important Paragon points as a fresh Necromancer: Vanquisher!

Why Vanquisher is So Good Early On

I‘ve played my fair share of Necro builds across various ARPGs, and in my experience, the Vanquisher Paragon tree offers exactly what you need early on:

  • Damage to plow through enemies with Bone Spear and Death Nova
  • Durability to withstand incoming attacks while channeling close-range skills
  • Armor penetration so your attacks cut through tough elites/bosses

Based on community consensus from veteran sites like Icy Veins and the Diablo Reddit forums, most players agree Vanquisher is the way to go up until around Paragon level 50. The synergies are just too good to pass up!

Key Vanquisher Bonuses for Necromancers

Let‘s break down some of the most useful Vanquisher nodes for aspiring Necros:

Permanent 3% Damage Increase Per Point

This right here is just chef‘s kiss perfect for improving our damage output across ALL skills. More damage = bigger Bone Spears and meatier Corpse Explosions. What‘s not to love?

25% Increased Maximum Life

Getting up close and personal channeling Death Nova can get dangerous quick. The extra health pool from Vanquisher gives us enough padding to absorb hits while we melt elite packs using our proximty skills.

30% Armor Penetration Rating

Armor penetration ensures our spells hit HARD against tankier enemies. With Vanquisher, even act bosses and Greater Rifts Rift Guardians will feel the pain of your maxed out Bone Spikes!

Early Leveling Builds Utilizing Vanquisher

To demonstrate how impactful the Vanquisher bonuses are early on, check out these leveling builds I‘ve used to great effect around levels 25+:

Pet Focused Build

  • Primary: Command Golem (for tanking)
  • Secondary: Bone Spear (spammable damage)
  • Skills: Revive, Skeletal Mage, Leoric‘s Crown
  • Paragon Priorities: Vanquisher‘s damage & life nodes first

Death Nova Channeler

  • Primary: Death Nova (hold to decimate packs)
  • Secondary: Bone Armor (for survival in close combat)
  • Skills: LotD, Frailty Aura, Iron Rose in cube (for essence sustain)
  • Paragon Priorities: Vanquisher‘s armor penetration first

As you can see, Vanquisher‘s bonuses pair perfectly with these early Necromamcer leveling builds!

Alternate Trees After Level 50

Now once you get into higher Paragon levels (50+), many players actually respecc into the Gladiator or Commander branches instead:

Gladiator

Great for boosting critical strike damage and chance for more BIG damage pops! Useful for endgame push builds relying on Corpse Lance and Lost Time procs.

Commander

Supports team play by increasing monster damage taken and attack speed for allies. Fantastic for support Necros running groups in Nightmare dungeons and Hell difficulty content.

But make no mistake – Vanquisher is still hands-down the best starting Paragon tree to give your early Necromancer the damage and durability needed to thrive in those opening acts!

Tl;dr – Prioritize Vanquisher Up to Level 50

So let‘s recap why the Vanquisher Paragon tree is so highly recommended for starting Necromancers:

  • Big damage bonuses to level smoothly and melt enemies
  • Extra maximum life to sustain casting channeled skills
  • Armor penetration so your attacks hit hard vs tough foes
  • Ideal abilities to complement early pet and channeling builds

Based on my experience playing MANY Necro variations over the years, I feel confident saying Vanquisher is 100% the way to go up until around Paragon 50. Give it a shot and let me know how you enjoy unleashing maximum hellish DPS!

Thanks as always for checking out my Diablo guides. Let me know in the comments what class topics you‘d like me to cover next!
